@fauxfilosopher @baileylikemovie I think it’s because they have to crop the screen with black bars on the side(good theaters will just use curtains) which basically makes the movie smaller on those screens.

A lot of the ‘you HAVE to see this in IMAX’ stuff is pretty gimmicky nowadays but I really think the way they differentiated the flashbacks and present with aspect ratios in PHM was super effective. It’s sad that so many won’t get a chance to see it that way
