Designers need a reality check. The best designers in the world aren't getting paid $10K just after 3 months of pushing pixels in Figma. They got there after decades of experience. I asked a freelance designer once how much the retainer would need to be to work with us full-time. He said 5-figures. The portfolio didn't speak that at all. I know you want to get rich quickly, make $10K/mo in a few months, but the reality is it's not that easy. To have premium rates, earn them. Build proof in your niche, deliver great work, build confidence and pricing over time. Then you earn the right to charge more.

If you want to get ahead in life, do the old fashioned things well. Stand up straight. Look people in the eye. Do what you say you'll do. Be on time. Have a confident handshake. Be kind. Surprisingly few live up to this standard. The old fashioned things never go out of style.
