@eleni_sibbald If you haven’t read this, you must. Story of an Iranian who became a Christian, but such good writing it is receiving secular awards. Every literarily aware Christian I know loved it.

second year is done & I’m excited to have space for reading more then 5 mins of non-fic a week these is my TBR (I get most of my fiction from the library, hence the non fic leaning) but it is not binding at all so plz recommend things you’ve enjoyed so far this year 🫶🏼

Here's a summary from @PLeithart : "David was thirty when he became king (2 Samuel 5:4), and Saul reigned forty years (Acts 13:21). Thus, David was born in the tenth year of Saul’s reign. Jonathan, however, was already fighting with Saul in the third year of his reign at the battle of Michmash (1 Samuel 13:1, 3), and therefore must have been at least twenty at that time. By the time David was born, Jonathan was at least thirty and perhaps even older; though David and Jonathan are in a sense brothers, Jonathan was certainly old enough to be David’s father." @uk_timwilson How do we know the age gap, brother?

@Mos_aic That's so encouraging! After our youth weekend recently, our youth leader said "We think it was a good weekend, but I guess we'll find out in 10 years!" That's a really good perspective to have on kids and youth work

@uk_timwilson Thanks for this. We are baptizing someone this week who turned to Christianity when he was disillusioned because of hearing Bible stories at school 10 years before.
