@MsShira50 @Hana_b30 Yeah I know a lot of NZ (Lived there 5 years) If they grow like that, then it's a evolutionary change brought on by wind, I would think. Otherwise it would be detrimental to the tree to potentially shade itself

@ukbikestuff @Hana_b30 The place where those trees live catches the wind from Antartica. It’s very difficult to even walk in that wind because it’s so strong. But the place where I live is more sheltered and trees grow normally near my place.

The coast of New Zealand has very strong winds, so the trees here have learned to grow sideways.
