This is a mixed ependymoma-subependymoma. It’s a little unusual to see the two morphologies together, but it does happen and underscores their common lineage.

Posterior fossa tumor. Some regions look like the first image, others look like the second image. Diagnosis? (It doesn't dEPEND on your diagnostic acumen, just the willingness to SUBordinate your personal interests for the greater good.) 😉

good point on the CRX! It wasn't done, but a good idea to do. This matched to papillary tumor of the pineal region. It showed loss of chrom 10 and had a PTEN (presumably somatic) mutation. Case courtesy of Rati Chkheidze.
