NEW: Justice Dept asks court to HALT court proceedings in the civil lawsuits filed against Trump over January 6th attack
They argue the discovery process in the case is "disruptive and untenable"
Filing notes "presidential immunity" issue and says the case would "untenably subject the sitting President to burdensome litigation and discovery"

Today’s Player of the Day: Briggs Cherry (@BriggsCherry3 )
At 6’4”, 215 lbs, the true freshman is a Four Star Quarterback out of The Baylor School in Chattanooga walks in looking the part. But what separates Briggs isn’t just the frame or the arm talent, it’s everything underneath it. His path wasn’t handed to him. Cherry stepped into the starting role his junior year after sitting behind Whit Muschamp, learning, developing, and waiting his turn. That time mattered. Because when his number was called, he didn’t just step in, he took over.
From that point on, it was consistency at a high level. Nearly 6,000 passing yards, completing 75% of his attempts and only 2 Interceptions in his HS career 2024: 2,718 yards, 31 TD, just 3 INT on 69.2% completion . Led Baylor to a 24-1 record as a starter and a State Championship in his senior year, while earning All-State honors, and being named most accurate passer at Elite 11 (2025), In which he broke Daniel Kaelin”s previous record of 56 by scoring a 63 in the Panini Accuracy Challenge
What makes Briggs stand out even more , is who he is as a teammate. Coaches and players say the same thing, he’s a locker room guy. The type everyone gravitates toward. The type who will do whatever it takes to help his team win. He sat, learned, supported, and when his moment came, he delivered. That’s been consistent since he was young.
There’s a toughness there too that you can’t teach. Last season, ahead of a rivalry game against McCallie, things got personal. Videos were sent around trying to get in his head, including emotional moments involving his family. His number was leaked to the student body. Hundreds of messages came in over the next couple days.
He didn’t respond, He handled it the only way that matters. Silence… and winning.
Briggs was a highly sought after recruit in the 2026 cycle, with schools such as Ohio State , and Georgia attempting to get involved late in his recruitment , but he remained loyal to the Cardinals
Now fast forward to Louisville
An early enrollee this spring, Briggs has already started to turn heads. The game isn’t too fast for him. His ability to diagnose defenses, recognize pressure, and operate within the offense at this stage stands out immediately.
Yes, the size is there.
Yes, the arm talent is there.
But what most don’t see until you really watch him is the anticipation and vision. That’s what separates him. That’s what translates. He showed it again in the spring game. Poised, controlled, decisive. Making tight window throws and commanding the moment like it wasn’t too big.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll stand on it. He’s “The Future”. Not just at quarterback, but the face of the program. Because when you combine talent, toughness, leadership, and a willingness to learn, you get something different.
And whenever his number is called…
Legacy isn’t far behind.

Fuck off @MeghanMcCain. I’m an American. I have free speech. I have a right to criticize Trump’s ugly ballroom & will do so whenever I want. Whoever the Dem nominee is in 2028 should pledge to tear the damn thing down. And btw, your father would be so damn disappointed in what you’ve become.

@RpsAgainstTrump Ever drink til you blackout only to hear humiliating stories of things you did the next day? trump’s entire life is like that now without the alcohol or the shame. It’s so cringe but in a dangerous kind of way.

If it turns out Russini’s husband really did hire a PI and they’ve had all this info for years and just been sitting, waiting, crafting the perfect moment to go completely nuclear and ruin everyone’s lives and careers involved…
Dude needs to be hired by an NFL organization. I mean the patience and planning alone
