@TheJoshMan07 it's just the concept really. You don't need odyssey 2 if the next mario game is open and sandboxy, which it likely will, but the appeal of space and gravity-gimmicks is exclusive to galaxy, so no sequel means no more of that.

I’ll never understand this weird infatuation people have with Galaxy 3. Galaxy is the last 3D Mario game that needs ANOTHER sequel. And I don’t see how a new fully original game wouldn’t be preferable.

@Kooale3256 @merlino_games while this may be true for me and you, there is absolutely tons of people whose requirement for a good game is to get entertained in a constant hit of dopamine. Like I love Nintendo but their whole "if it ain't fun why bother" toylike approach to games isn't the only valid one

I fucking hate how people treat "Isn't open world" as a hardware limitation of games. No man. "Open world" isn't the natural evolution of game design. It's ONE approach. It does not NEED to be everywhere and it's not a mark of inherent quality over more linear games!!!
