I wish there was a game where I could simulate mixing chemicals in flasks and it have a realistic chemical physics engine to emulate a real world lab, but with no dumbing down of the processes. A real ChemSim. Would play it all day, lol.

@SFBART The past three times I've been to 16th and Mission, I've had to sprint the station to have a hope of catching the Richmond train before another 15+ minute lead time.
This time I didn't make it, and I watched 15 minutes of my day pull away as I got to the platform.

@SFBART has the timing for Red and Yellow lines changed recently? I've been hitting 17-20 minute lead times trying to get back to Richmond from SF close to rush hour more often than not recently.

If anyone wants to run some strangely crisp gels, give the minigel from Bulldog Bio a try. I got this about 16yrs ago and it's been my workhorse ever since. Built in power supply, 50/100v switch, and runs on 0.5x TAE. Also easy to repair if it dies.

@mateosfo I had a similar situation in Miami. I asked to pull over and explain why I was riding off the right. He got mad and decided to issue a ticket. I fought the ticket then spent 6 months w/ the city attorneys office to have them issue better advise for the officers. It didn't help.

A first for me on the bike:
Got close-passed by a Berkeley police vehicle on a city "bicycle boulevard," the cop actually pulled over and told me I should not ride in the street.
Me, gobsmacked: "Do you know about bicycle boulevards?"
Cop: "You need to get out of the road."

The reason I find it thoughtful is that it explains the tradeoffs we choose.
1) We restrict the actions of children to walk, but not of the elderly to drive.
2) We prosecute the parents who let the children walk independently, but not the 76 year old driver who hit the kid.

it's hard to overstate what a big deal this is. with breathtaking speed, columbia has more or less completely eliminated grad student teaching positions that have existed for decades. myself and many others are out of work as a result. please sign the petition/share widely.
