We used to treat these people for mental illness.

A friend of mine tried to explain that trans people just want to “live their lives” and to his horror I had to show him what “egg cracking” was on Reddit and discord. He immediately got on board with banning trans people across the country.

One of the most radicalizing moments of my life was when I learned that they just stop collecting social security taxes on money earned over like $150K. Like you just suddenly keep 3-6% more money on all money over that threshold.

@JamesAFurey Taught for 10 years in inner city public schools from about 2010-2019. The pay wasn’t great but accounting for the time off it was something I could have done forever. However, I could not handle being given no authority to discipline students *and* take blame for what resulted.

Teachers have simultaneously: A) been stripped of the ability to do anything about poorly behaved students B) been pressured to pass students no matter what C) been tasks with taking on more and more responsibilities that used to belong to parents D) been vilified and blamed for every problem in society. So…why the job dissatisfaction? It’s a mystery!
