@LegalAwards Please stop using pictures of gavels! UK courts do not, and never have, used gavels. That's the Americans on TV shows. We do not use them in the UK. It looks really silly to anyone with legal training.

@hernhillforum Derek Minter, King of Brands. The sound of his Thunderball Norton when I was a schoolboy brought tears to my eyes and made my eardrums bleed. Wonderful!

#OTD 1962 30-year old Derek Minter, of Honey Hill, #Blean gave the T.T. week in the Isle of Man a tremendous send off when he won the 250 c.c. lightweight event on a Japanese Honda, after a blistering battle over the 226-mile six lap course with Southern Rhodesian Jim Redman.

@Graham_Galpin @DamianGreen Was looking for a list of how MPs voted! Would always respect Damian's view, it's always genuinely held and thought out even when we don't agree

As ever @DamianGreen has voted with his head, heart and soul but respects democracy. I will, as always respect his stand

That's it - I'm done. After 43 years with the KM, today is my last in the office before I retire at the end of the month. It's been a joy to end my career with such a special and talented group of people

@KirstieMAllsopp @thedailysarah We paid £120 each for ours, because we booked well in advance - we don't need them until mid September and they "don't do refunds". Melio. I will never use their services again and advise others not to.

Just paid £75 each for Day 2 test. All the cheaper ones were sold out. I can afford it, but many can’t. It is TOTALLY wrong to do this, it’s a tax on family, love. holidays, and is crushing tourism.

@KentishHack @flightradar24 Yup, it is officially Zeppelin LZ N07-101. And I thought it is actually classed as a blimp - "a large aircraft without wings, consisting of a large bag filled with gas that is lighter than air and driven by engines."

I was so shocked by the death of former KM production editor Garry Barker that I've written my first blog post in more than three years. I know he'd have subbed it down to a nib. iancarterblog.wordpress.com

@iancarterIM Like so many, I am deeply shocked by the untimely loss of such a genuinely wonderful kind and talented bloke - he never had a bad word for anyone, was brilliant at his job during the most difficult times and kept his calm with a shrug, a wry grin and a joke. So sad. Poor Claire.

Deeply saddened to learn of the death of former KM production editor Garry Barker. Garry ran the subs' desk during the toughest period the industry has faced, soaking up the pressure in an inimitable, unflappable style that won the affection of all who came into his orbit.

@maidenmad Yes, thanks for that. We would qualify for travel and have attestations at the ready. But the number of tests and quarantine on return means we are not planning on going any time soon.

@iancarterIM @rotherhamtiser Utterly heartwarming. Praise the Lord, and all his creations which buzz and crawl amongst us. And readers who not only buy papers but still write letters to the editor.

Another striking front page from, in my humble opinion, one of the country's most consistently excellent weeklies. The full interview by @lydiachKM is quite a read. #buyapaper
