I haven’t watched a Flyers game since 2025. I want to be excited about Martone, but this is such a trash/directionless organization that I don’t trust to develop any player. All of our elite prospects seem to suddenly stop leaning into what makes them special when PHI drafts them

Having watched 100s of prospects since 2013 at multiple points in their development.. it’s not that hard.. at all.. to watch a player and be > 70% confident he isn’t a high potential prospect. But ofc it’s not that simple. How many have you watched?

When Michkov gets traded, half of the fanbase will be calling it the right move (the same ones in my mentions telling me I know nothing about hockey)

@ungertaker Martone is high-end, but he fits the Philly mold. Michkov doesn’t, so a lot of this fanbase misses how special he is. Too many people here only watch hockey through a Philly lens. Feels like we’re about to watch another Bobrovsky-level fumble...

That’s where they are at. In no way is them making the playoffs a bad thing.

Trolling aside, Michkov is a better player of ice hockey than Martone. It isn't some absurd gap and both of them will be among the best wingers in the sport.
If the Flyers want to be anything significant, they need both to be exactly that.

Drysdale, Tippett, and Zegras were not drafted and developed by the Flyers. All three had multiple seasons of professional hockey with other NHL orgs
