Power to our rep Steph who's just won PPE that actually fits women, for her workplace!
Safety at work isn't too much to ask of employers - but sometimes it takes a union

Thanks to Kathryn Stainburn of Castleford Civic Society and @unitecomleeds for the invitation to attend the rededication of Herbert Smith's gravestone in Castleford.
Smith was a huge figure in the labour movement, president of the Miners Federation of Great Britain (MFGB) during the #GeneralStrike 100 years ago, and legendary for his Yorkshire bluntness: "Nowt doing!"

Today we called on Reform councillors at Doncaster Council to keep their promise and invest in Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
With thousands of jobs and billions of investment at risk, our message is simple - support the £57 million loan and get the airport open now #saveDSA
👏 Victory for workers & for Doncaster!
Today's vote to support Doncaster Sheffield Airport is a huge step forward for jobs, growth & the future of our region.
Trade unions, workers & the local community stood together & made their voices heard 💪
🚨 Strike Action 🚨
Planned action: Every Monday 18 May to 6 April '27
Unite regional officer Craig Patterson said: There is still a chance to prevent strike action, but that relies on Amcor coming back to negotiations with a new pay deal.

I was humbled to be in #Barnsley today. Honouring 100 years of the general strike.
We should never forget that the real power of the labour movement is workers and activists. At the point of production, the crucible of resistance. The match that lights the fire of change. ✊
Today, we mark 100 years of the general strike - over two million workers held a nine-day strike that halted transport, industry, and the press. This event highlights this historic moment of solidarity for workers' & use those lessons to fight for a better future. #GeneralStrike
Today we marked International Workers' Memorial Day
Health and safety isn't about box-ticking or red tape - it's about lives. It's not optional, it's a basic right.
We remember those we've lost, and continue the fight

🚨BREAKING Deal agreed to end bins strike after 15 months!
It is an absolute abhorrence that this deal has been blocked not just once but twice by unelected unaccountable commissioners and officers at Birmingham City Council.
Congratulations to the Unite members who stood firm throughout, backed by their union.
“The move made today by the leader of the council is a vindication of the bin workers’ struggle for a decent deal” @UniteSharon
🚨 Strike Action - First, Doncaster
It's day 3 of action for our members and their resolve is clear. They don't want to be out on strike, but they deserve #FairPay ✊

Cummins is a hugely profitable company that can more than afford to put forward an acceptable pay offer. These workers have @unitetheunion's total support in taking strike action to achieve pay justice. #JobsPayConditions
