"Makerere University is very intentional about ensuring that our students are safe at all times because people achieve their full potential in any endeavor when they feel safe. Over the years, we have put in place various policies to safeguard our students. In addition to the Safeguarding policy, we have the Anti sexual harassment policy and the policy to support Students with Disabilities. Every student should know these policies so as to know the steps to take in case they feel threatened," ~ @ProfNawangwe at the Safeguarding Annual Message Grand Finale, 17th March 2026.

We cannot talk of achieving: “A transformed Ugandan society from a peasant to a modern prosperous country” without a strong education system and a critical mass of dedicated teaching staff. As Government, we have implemented a number of policy interventions with the aim of improving access to education and enhancing the quality of learning in our educational institutions.

As we honored some of the most outstanding architects of our nation’s future, "Teachers Making a Difference" has played a vital role in celebrating and honoring teachers who go beyond their professional responsibilities in service to their communities. This program reinforces the value of innovation and commitment in the teaching profession. I use the word "architects" because, as teachers, you are the foundation of our education system and key pillars in shaping the citizens Uganda needs for the development of a prosperous nation.

Col @edthnaka thank you for this message, As the students organization we add a voice to call upon parents to take on their responsibilities in nurturing children into responsible citizens. @Educ_SportsUg @StateHouseUg @GCICUganda
State House Investors Protection Unit@ShieldInvestors

Col. @edthnaka has tipped the youth to embrace intentional fatherhood which is being present, deliberate, and nurturing while raising children. “Many children complain that their parents have abandoned their responsibilities,” - Col. @edthnaka while interacting with the youth, emphasizing that the physical presence of parents in the lives of their children is key to keeping a family intact.

“We recognise that training alone is not enough. Knowledge must be translated into action. This capstone therefore provides an important space to consolidate learning, strengthen dialogue, and move from training to co-creation, identifying practical ways through which youth can contribute to peace and security processes. This reflection is particularly important given the changing geopolitical environment in which countries in the Great Lakes Region are pursuing peace and stability.” — Dr. Nansozi K.
