Breaking laws is how we change them. Sanctions only hurt the people. Governments will find ways around them. The sanctions on Cuba are inhumane and a remnant of archaic laws from the Red Scare & Cold War.

yeah the us law is fucking stupid. i didn’t break it but this post is the only one that ironically acknowledges the comical us restrictions on what us citizens are allowed to do in cuba. the “5 star hotel” is one of the few hotels the us gov allows americans to legally stay in.

people misunderstand the icarus story. the problem was not that he flew too high. it's that the wings were made of beeswax, which offered very little resistance to heating. with modern materials he would have had no problems. we can fly as close to the sun as we want now
