Folks are upset cause i said we must learn from South African Democracy. As Africans we must learn not hate. A Police Commissioner accused his boss of Corruption on TV. Elsewhere Mkwanazi would've been fired for that. Hate or love them SA has most stable institutions in Africa !

A young graduate who walked onto the stage without a new or “classy” dress has captured the hearts of many South Africans after an emotional moment with her mother at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. tinyurl.com/yptujnsf

BREAKING NEWS | NCC leader Fadiel Adams has arrived in Durban - 31 hours after his arrest in Cape Town.  He’s not at Westville SAPS as expected, but at another location. We have had sight of the convoy. Adams is due to appear at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, on charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.  Details on @eNCA #DStv403.

@RhuNdimande This condition is normal in Taxi industry. Often, drivers are self employed, with contract to deliver, the driver sickness shouldn't affect the tender signed by the scooter owner. Ubers/Bolt, self emplyed, you are off then no income. Best option, is to be self employed there.

A Sixty60 driver tells Clement on 702 #TheCMShow that he earns about R1200 per week and is concerned about how rising fuel prices will affect his income. He added that he doesn’t get days off, even when he’s sick. If he needs time off, he’s expected to find someone to cover his shift, and even a sick note isn’t accepted. Such working conditions are unacceptable to South Africans, who are often labeled as lazy when they voice their concerns. On the other hand, foreign nationals are willing to accept these terms, being praised as hard workers.

So Nhlamulo Ndlela & @uMkhontoWesizw of KwaZulu-Natal want spaza shops reserved exclusively for South Africans… sounds simple on paper, but let’s be honest, this won’t be feasible and here is why I think so and you can put your own reasoning 🤔 1. Where exactly will the capital come from? These are not small tuck shops anymore… they require serious stock, bulk buying, logistics. Who is funding that at scale? 2. “Bo my friend” are everywhere in this country from deep rural villages to big metros. They’ve built distribution networks over years. You can’t just remove that overnight and expect shelves to stay full. 3. These people pay significant money in rent, rates, and municipal services so it’s not like they’re outside the system and believe it or not 99% are big investors and documented 4. Many of them come with investment, business skills, and tight supply chains from Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc. That know-how doesn’t just appear overnight. 5. Do you think South Africans will be able to work those long hours… 5am to 9/10pm daily. Bhow many of us are ready for that level of consistency every single day? 😅 6. And let’s not forget - credit. In many townships and rural areas, they give food on trust when families are struggling. That’s real community impact. So instead of removing them, shouldn’t the focus be on empowering South Africans to compete, partner, and grow in that same space?

Today I had a very constructive meeting with former President Jacob Zuma in Durban. We discussed issues such as the value of mother tongue education, the promotion of mutual recognition and respect between cultural communities, agricultural development in traditional communities, and Section 235 of the South African Constitution. More meetings will follow. As a civil society organisation @afriforum remains outside of party politics. We are working for the next generation rather than the next election. In securing a better future for the next generation, we are committed to engaging with all stakeholders in South Africa, even though we may differ on certain issues. We are committed to helping find solutions to the challenges the country and all its people face.
