@hollow_words1 @McCarthyist2 Also, was it me, or did most of the scenes show one boat, and after they dock in one of the many islands, it was like three? Also, the number of soldiers seemed a lot when they were making it back from the islands after misfortunes, compared to the ship's capacity and loss of men

@McCarthyist2 There's no purpose to this scene. It could be cut and nothing changes. If he wanted more of the company dead, just transplant those deaths onto another encounter. This was a waste of screen time.

Nolan dickriders have invented like 50 different “deep” and “philosophical” meanings for this scene in the replies and qt’s lol. The problem with critiquing a Nolan movie nowadays is his stans think he’s some profound philosopher and can thus invent some deep metaphor for any bad scene to justify it.
Modern McCarthyist@McCarthyist2

Im surprised more people aren’t talking about just how atrocious this scene is in the Odyssey. Nolan took a part of the story about savage giants who throw boulders at and eat Odysseus’s crew and changed them to be weird 12ft tall medieval knights or something.

@suchenzang It is the right move for them for now since US orgs have a huge market share. I am sure once they are on par, they will go back to closed source unless everyone, for some reason open weight their models. I dont see how openAI or anthropic do this with the massive debts they have

absolutely incredible things happening on the TL: alibaba effectively admitted to being MANDATED by their Big Guy to pivot AWAY from closed and TOWARDS open (weights) while the US is throwing export controls around like a game of blind pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, China is really going all in on commoditization, forcing their corps to foot their own AI bills and release the final artifacts to the public (thereby controlling public fear of walled gardens and mass job displacement while allowing their AI labs to build goodwill at the same time) now tell me, who is the blind one in their policy strategies?

NeoCons and Libertarians are slandering JD Vance as a “socialist” because they fundamentally believe that securing the border and stopping mass migration are socialist policies. Neocons are too scared to oppose Trump directly, but many Lolberts will be honest about this.

@redfang58 How can you kick someone who is Trump's friend out of the movement. Trump himself backed Levin and said he wanted to make clear whose side he was on to remove ambiguity. It is clear you put Vance above Trump

We kicked out MTG and Tucker hopefully we can add Levin to the list.

The left screenshot shows Mark Levin spreading a hoax that falsely claims that I tried to get an anti-Trumper fired from her job. @grok even confirms that I never called for her to be fired. The right screenshot shows Mark Levin calling for me to be fired from my own job. (He has called for my firing numerous times over the past month.) If he’s successful (he won’t be), can I sue him? @marklevinshow has serious issues.

@DeborahDou11570 @HAHazony @Surabees @joerogan @michaeljknowles He gave the game away when he was defending the MOU by implying Israel was the impediment to peace in the Middle East (Joe Kent/Tucker talking points). The Qatar FM (laptop picture with Vance), who they were working with on the MOU, even said this in an interview

JD's view has always been that US/IL relations should be based on mutual interest. This is literally the same thing that he said on @joerogan . This is what @michaeljknowles said on his show the other day. JD clearly views Israel as an ally--relation of shared interests.

JD Vance changes his politics too often. He flipped on Trump, he flipped on Israel… it’s all so strange… Here is Vance discussing his views on Israel before the election.

@BassPattern @anuragvhu @rsalakhu Okay, I get your point, but what was done to Jack Ma was more than influence. They took his liberties away over a speech they deemed challenged the CCP's authority, not Alibaba's actions

Jack Ma is actually a good example of the distinction. He publicly criticized China’s financial regulators, and Beijing responded by halting Ant Group’s IPO and increasing regulatory scrutiny of Alibaba. That’s government influence using regulatory power to shape corporate behavior. Governments do this everywhere. The U.S. uses export controls on NVIDIA, antitrust actions against Google, and defense contracts to influence companies. Europe does the same through competition law and regulation. The difference is that influence means the government can pressure or punish companies when they cross certain lines. Control means the government is directing specific business decisions. If there’s evidence Beijing instructed Alibaba and Tencent to invest in Moonshot AI, I’d be interested to see it. But Jack Ma’s case isn’t evidence of that it shows the government has leverage, not that every investment is government directed.

If you are trying to compare yourself to Kimi, open source the model just like Kimi.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

@minchoi Our 2T model, which is better than our 1.5T in every way, will finish initial training next week. It might be able to exceed Kimi, but with speed and token efficiency close to our 1.5T (aka Grok 4.5).

@BassPattern @anuragvhu @rsalakhu What is the difference here between government control and influence? I assume if Alibaba and Tencent don't do the CCP's bidding, they will be taken over or leadership changed exactly as they did to Jack Ma(Alibaba)

@upintheskies2 @anuragvhu @rsalakhu You’re collapsing “government influence” into “government control.” Those are different things. If you have evidence Beijing ordered Alibaba and Tencent to fund Moonshot AI, post it. Otherwise you’re filling in the gaps with speculation.

@BlakeKresses @DeborahDou11570 way to prove my point! You have no rebuttal to the actual points. Where did I claim I was American? Also, show your audience where you got the idea that people are critiquing the VP on immigration, or you are just a lying hack

@BlakeKresses I haven’t seen anyone criticizing JD call for an open border. At least people who consider themselves conservative. I do see a lot of criticism of his economic ideas and thoughts though.

@BlakeKresses @DeborahDou11570 So you did not watch Ben Shapiro's video you complained about, in which he addresses the VP's economic vision. He addressed the VP's attack on capitalism in his book and on Rogan. It is clear you are a partisan on this
