There is no chance whatsoever Nolan cast Nyong’o to satisfy Academy diversity requirements. OPPENHEIMER was cast entirely with white actors and won seven Oscars including best picture.

For the record, I think Lupita Nyong’o is incredibly beautiful. I mean she has a nearly perfect face. The issue is that Helen of Troy was Greek and described as fair and Musk is almost certainly correct that Nolan changed her race to fulfill the new diversity standards the Academy requires. And we should whine about that. It’s death to art.

These idiots don’t understand how the Oscar diversity policy works There are FOUR standards. A film must meet diversity TWO of them to be eligible for Best Picture 1. Cast, Story, Themes 2. Creative leadership, Crew 3. Industry access 4. Marketing/Publicity Emma Thomas is a producer, Jennifer Lane is an editor. That means Odyssey has already met Standard 2. Universal Pictures and has an internship program for underrepresented groups. That satisfies Standard 3. The Odyssey qualifies for the award without having anything to do with its cast.

Interesting that an account called “End Wokeness” is criticizing the Dominican Republic for deporting illegal immigrants. The same policies associated with “wokeness” contributed to massive illegal immigration into the United States — something the Trump administration and many anti-woke voices claimed they wanted to reverse. Now the Dominican Republic is trying to address years of illegal immigration in its own country, and suddenly it’s a problem. I don’t support abusive or inhumane methods in any way, but the double standard here is pretty interesting.
