Yesterday, legislators ousted her boss, Dr. Simmer, who managed SC’s controversial COVID response. Both spread questionable information and directives from the CDC and WHO (which later proved false) and pushed for shutdowns and mask & vaccine mandates despite objections from myself and other legislators. Terrible timing with a new “pandemic” arriving! We need a Director who puts South Carolinians first—not outside organizations or the medical lobby. Someone like the FL Surgeon General. Definitely not someone who mishandled the last pandemic. And we need a Governor who won’t constantly let conservatives down. The SC Senate must reject this appointment!
