What does this new rifle do that the SCAR-H doesn't? My understanding is that the SCAR-H also swaps between those two calibers, and effectively has AR controls, and they recently pushed out a new one with non-reciprocating charging handle, so I wonder what the reason was they decided to drop it.

In service since 2009, the MK17 SCAR-H is being replaced by the MK24 Mid-range Gas Gun-Assault that can fire both 7.62 NATO and 6.5 Creedmoor...good for ranges out to 1,200 meters. Full story here: taskandpurpose.com/tech-tactics/m…
