i’ve been trying to go to the gym and gain weight recently after being anorexic basically my entire life and i never realized how difficult it is to eat 2,000 calories a day. you genuinely just have to not stop eating all day. this is ridiculous

@cj110106 i think you’re confused lol i never said that trans people and their expression/ideas of gender are not influenced by social norms

@user861kms 'Choice feminism is bad because it ignores how decisions are shaped by social views on gender' 'The (posited) difference in decisions regarding expression for 'ftms' vs the opposite, and also just trans ppl overall, is somehow completely uninfluenced by social views on gender'

@NemoEntropy @cj110106 if you want to have stupid sex, fine. but lets not let anti-intellectualism seep into our brains and not allow us to think, “hm, that’s suspicious, women are much more often receiving the brutality during sex than not. surely there’s no broader reason for this!”

@NemoEntropy @cj110106 i think you are misinterpreting my tweet as me coming into everyone’s bedroom and telling them they can’t do something. i’m saying that going “oh well, women like it, so i guess we can’t think critically about why women are more often taking submissive roles!” is stupid

@NemoEntropy @cj110106 there is no dangerous piercing consent form. they simply won’t do it! any good piercer will NOT pierce someone if they are high risk, even if it’s asked for and they consent! i think that’s a much more apt comparison (elective, non-essential work) than medical procedures

@user861kms @cj110106 oh but comparing a "dangerous piercing" consent form and being able to cum a little quicker (the goal is usually HARDER btw, not quicker) is more appropriate somehow? More ppl end up in the ER bc they put something nefarious in their asses and can't get it back out than they do

@mwalnourish @foxxyscleo never said anyone “directly” told them this. it’s bigger than any individual man or woman. this is a large scale binary system. nobody went up to them and said, “you should enjoy getting strangled during sex.” but it is very silly to pretend gender stereotypes do not influence us

@RyanBoyko81 i’m not personally stopping anyone from having kinky sex, but i’ll be damned if i shrug my shoulders and go, “well, women choose it, so let’s not think any further about the consequences of that”

@RyanBoyko81 i didn’t assume that men and women would have identical preferences at all. i’m saying that claiming we can’t critically analyze dangerous sexual preferences that are largely enacted on women rather than vice versa bc women enjoy it and “choose” it is anti-intellectual

@NemoEntropy @cj110106 i think there’s a pretty big difference between an important medical procedure and being able to cum a little quicker but i think you know that and are just disingenuous. there’s a risk/benefit scale for everything

@DeathCrow127709 @user861kms And then they'll say the original points never came from radfems in the first place, because they're basically the town witches.

@midwestvriska @cj110106 “gender” dysphoria, probably not, because nobody would be assigned those traits (wearing makeup=woman for example) based on how they were born. so anyone could just present however without gender association. but dysphoria based on sex would definitely still exist

@user861kms @cj110106 I agree with u and i also agree with ur disliking of online radical feminists. But if that’s what you think, do you think if we lived in a world free of gender, gender dysphoria wouldnt exist?

@cetharine117 radfems tend to be pretty transphobic and it may be shocking but i’m able to agree with certain aspects of some things but not others. you don’t have to all or nothing an ideology. “choice feminism” and radical feminism are not the only feminist stances you can take

@user861kms I dont see how fighting for womens rights and liberation and not catering to men by trying to water down feminism males you a stupid person. Its the opposite of choice feminism but you dont agree with either?

@midwestvriska @cj110106 basically i don’t think you can “feel” like a woman, because to feel like a woman, it would involve identifying with things society has deemed “womanly.” some people (c1s and trans) conflate the two (sex and gender) just because the rest of the world does anyway, it’s hard to not

@midwestvriska @cj110106 not what i said. i think gender (at least currently) is a set of norms assigned to people based on their sex at birth. i do not believe in an innate sense of gender. i’m saying have sex-based dysphoria is very real and you solve that by altering your sex characteristics

@cj110106 yes, i think trans people experience dysphoria about their sex characteristics upon birth, i believe it’s a medical condition where the treatment is HRT/surgery

@cj110106 i can’t figure out what you dislike about this post other than the use of the word torture, which was hyperbolic and a way of illustrating that highly risky things are unethical to do even with consent. and yes, choking is extremely dangerous

the majority of women opposed women voting. should we have pretended that was feminist too because they chose to not vote and not at all influenced by the fact they were told they had a specific role in society
