I don’t see any issue here except those who are making the issue. I would have been less polite if someone answered me back with “na na na” .. 1. Is not your tailgate, your chairs, your tent, you are guest and you can be kicked out anytime. It’s not a public space, you are a guest until you are not, specially if you weren’t even invited.
