We can have strong policies, but if we don't have coordination everything stalls. So humbled to be joining the Welthungerhilfe (WHH) team at #UWEWK2026, alongside @uwasnet, @CANIntl Uganda, the @BugandaKingdom_, and other partners, to unpack what it really takes to make IWRM work on the ground. This conversation is timely because effective water resources management only happens when communities, institutions, and partners act together. 📅 Mar 25 | ⏰ 2PM 📍 MWE Luzira Join us and be part of shaping practical solutions: 🔗 zoom.us/meeting/regist…

On Day Two at Uganda Water and Environment Week, during the session on Learning from Practice: Translating Equitable Service Delivery Experience into Policy Action, the conversation focused on making water services more equitable and sustainable. Dr. Joyce Mpalanyi Magala emphasized that while tariffs cannot be uniform, they must be guided by clear principles that protect the most vulnerable. She also called for a revision of Uganda’s pro-poor strategy to reflect current realities and strengthen inclusive service delivery. The message was clear. Stronger coordination and collaboration are essential to support water utilities on the path to self-reliance and to extend piped water to underserved communities. #UWEWK2026 #WASHIsEveryonesBusiness #WaterForAll

Sanitation is one of the simplest and most powerful tools we have to prevent disease. During Sanitation Week, Dr. Herbert Nabaasa highlights why raising awareness and integrating sanitation into everyday practice must remain a national priority. From households to schools to national systems, the message is clear. Prevention starts with us. Watch the clip to hear his call to action and reflect on the role we all play in strengthening public health. #SanitationWeek #WASHIsEveryonesBusiness #PublicHealth #Prevention

This is where corruption meets gender-based violence. Water should never come at the cost of dignity. We need: ✔️ Stronger laws & accountability ✔️ Safe, confidential reporting systems ✔️ Gender-responsive water services ✔️ Collective action across sectors

Some issues in the WASH sector are hidden, but deeply felt. At a high-level dialogue convened by @uwasnet , evidence showed that 1 in 6 women have experienced or know someone affected by sextortion while accessing water services.
