[ Zenless Zone Zero - 3.0 Beta ]
Hardcore Boss Mode (HC) – Overview
This a new mode focused on high-difficulty boss battles with more technical and demanding mechanics.
🔹 Key Mechanics:
- Corruption Shield System: The boss cannot be “burst” directly, you must first break its shield using parries, assists, and abilities.
- When broken, it enters Stagger mode, where it takes increased damage and is vulnerable.
- If the shield refills, it enters Berserk mode with increased damage.
- “Dust” Mechanic:
- If you have it, you constantly lose health and visual attack indicators disappear.
- You can transfer stacks to the boss via parries or specific mechanics.
🔹 Mode Focus:
- Much more focused on actual skill (timing, parrying, execution)
- Constantly punishes mistakes
- Less reliance on stats, more on gameplay
🔹 "Competitive"/"Ranking" Mode:
- Time tracking, hits taken
- Rankings (friends and global)
- Best times
- Challenge-style rewards
So yes, this is an endgame mode designed for hardcore players, focused on perfect execution and optimization. Devs already talked about this in the DevTalk.

Dunno what Ryuuku said but SSR is definitely NOT RT. SSR is just a way to mimic reflections. It's not accurate and it also applies culling. On actual RT, things that are not on camera will still be shown. So "fake RT" is the most normie way to put it. Actual RT allows for other technologies such as Ray Traced Global Illumination because there's actual calculations going on which determines what should be seen. For example, you can see here the light from Changli's flame bouncing off the wall. Phoebe having more tint depending on the environment she's on.

@DiscussingFilm He might be lying. Kane has a history of lying, I remember reading a rumour that he isn't the actual director of the film and he's more of a "face" that A24 used as promotion because the actual director is an older gentleman.
