Which makes me think abt accompaniment, which is for me, one of the greatest things one human can do for another... in Decatur, when I was bone tired and feeling alone, the writer Valerie Boyd waited for me outside the panel, spoke encouraging words and I rode on that for days.

An incredible journey these past four months, with much brilliant accompaniment along the way. In the Bay Area, for ex., my old stomping grounds - I applied to Berkeley wanting to study with the great June Jordan but she died before the semester started...
