@Kennon9@LowFantasyGamin Did anything come of this? I'd also be interested, I'd love to hire you for a handful of pictures, but given how standard-issue what I need is, stock art would be just about as good!
@garychalkpics Hi Gary! Your profile says you'll draw anything for money - how do we get in touch to ask if you'll draw something for money?
The link to garychalkillustration.com is out of date btw
Fans of my artwork will like to know that I've opened an online shop selling limited edition giclée prints of my illustrations. There are six to start with, all printed on 308 gsm acid free paper. Each one is signed and individually numbered. Check out:

@pascalblanche You should! Your art was great inspiration for the post-apocalyptic section of my D&D campaign.
Gave us some great lore - the Shan Consortium, Sauri the jungle queen, the blue-skinned Sentine clones (5, 9 and the vast, enigmatic 0), Valdema and the Necromantic Empire...
@NickGerlock@Lurkman45 I’d feel like a plagiarist if I just copied it over without being transformative. Gotta prove that I’m not just tracing stuff and putting in basic in-between frames like a robot
@valinardthewise are you being dismissive or what? did you wait to read the point in the thread where I talked about the political implications of the filter being used on images of white supremacist violence? are you just trying to make some "it's not that deep" point bc everything is that deep
the fact that ghibli AI filter is one of the new fascist aesthetics isn't even surprising and that's sad. like I respect the overtly left-wing, environmentalist, anti-fascist aspects of certain ghibli movies, but it still doesn't surprise me that the aesthetic suits the fash
@The_DrunkDragon Relentlessly tiresome, unfunny, barely even able to offend.
"One joke stretched until you can hear its joints popping like some poor bastard broken on the rack. 'Oh my car has pronouns, I identify as a bird, I'm trans-Chinese.' The laziness of it -- shameful."
@DamndestBastard I’ll admit the news lately has been particularly grim, the British grooming gang news has been gut wrenching to read.
How did we get here?
@Blackmoor_Film@newbiedm Not to laud the campaign in the video, nor to dismiss your campaign! Just commenting on the reasoning there.
At my table what worked for us was to treat dungeon crawling as the 'base game' - something we did while we waited for the big dramatic moments to show up.
I am trying to stay positive - yet, this kind of D&D is not my kind of D&D.
I just play differently is all.
If you sucked up time dramatizing badly on our game night, we would probably not invite you back for another session.
We tend to be very mission focused. Dungeons are dangerous places and there are things out there which we are fully aware want to eat our faces off.
No time for bad acting, someone light an oil flask and pass it to the front rank.

@Blackmoor_Film@newbiedm What D&D has over them is the ability to improvise and roleplay meaningfully. You can go outside the rules as written. You can interact socially with the NPCs. You can accomplish through roleplaying and drama what you can't through force of arms.
@Blackmoor_Film@newbiedm >It would interrupt the important business of killing monsters and taking their treasure.
What I don't understand is - in that case, why not just play World of Warcraft?
Videogames let you kill monsters and take their treasure with consistently applied rules and challenge.
