@autismsupsoc Yes yes!
That said, I wear safety glasses all day to keep air movement off my eyeballs.
I've named wind The Angry Little Brother, quite pleasant when calm, spiteful and mean when aroused.
No:
windy cities
eating outside
cieling/oscillating fans
convertibles w the top down
English

@ChryssHart @autisticinnovat It's grammatical. Just sounds weird.
English

@autisticinnovat I am autistic, but I have ADHD because that's grammatically correct. I wouldn't say I am Disorder (though it might be accurate), so I don't say I am ADHD. I don't correct others, though, because it does me no harm for others to describe themselves however they prefer.
English

@autismsupsoc For a long time I kept thinking, "You can't [eat] your cake and eat it too?" i.e. have = eat :)
English

Many Autistic people have trouble with the idiom:
“You can’t have your cake and eat it too”
It is really saying:
“You can’t both save a whole cake for future consumption & also eat that same cake in it’s entirety now.”
Or
“You can’t have it both ways”

It is a common Autistic stim to make noises … many of us mimic animals noises … like cats …
Yes … a lot of us meow …

English

@BryceLongstaff @TruthAutistic Me: You said...
Them: I never said that.
Me: *like playing a recording, recites what they said word for word, inflection for inflection...*
Them: *silent contempt*
or
Them: *friendly smile* haHA! Ya got me! (and we move on)
English

@TruthAutistic I'm maddening because things that impact me the most, I remember down to the minute detail. Anything not as impactful I delete easily. When I discuss the impactful events I'm gaslighted and for what I delete I'm told I don't care.
English

@TruthAutistic Like a hundred times a day.
I say it self deprecatingly, so my uncertainty does not point at the listener. It's a ruse tho. I know I've said it clearly - in general - and need to know if they inferred what I intended or whether they decided I wrote something between the lines.
English

@spikyskills @ADDeeCee YES :)
like I know it's not a u but my intrusive rumination factory won't stop interjecting, "Hey, remember when..." even tho it knows quite well that yes, yes I do, as I did the first 10,000 times.
English

@spikyskills @ADDeeCee As for missing mistakes that's entirely, for me, executive distraction thingy stuff (imho)
English

@spikyskills @ADDeeCee For me:
Spelling rules have no power over what my brain decides a spelling is.
Ex. What began only as potty humor to an elementary schooler, has become a life long battle to not write turd in the middle of yesterday - every time.
Every word is the same ridiculous nonsense.
English

@iamthejubster @spikyskills I've often wondered if the intervention for my poor spelling is exactly that: literacy in Latin.
English

@spikyskills Maybe because many of the rules are exceptions to others?
And then there are exceptions to exceptions.
Anecdotally I heard that ND that learn the Latin roots have a much easier time spelling after they do.
English

@strawberryautie Without privilege, I'd'v never made it out of my teens.
(not sarcasm)
English

@forestvanslyke If you don't ask you don't learn no matter how stupid you feel, so here go what is nt is it neuropathic?
English

@jilevin National socialism has done some pretty bad stuff too. It's really no party.
English

@laurenancona Similar. I'm so often the only one in a store with a mask on *and* it's a full face P100 gas mask, so I'm pretty conspicuous.
I just smile bc-- I feel great!
(also it helps with other sensory issues like scents and wind on my face)
