How sick this journalist is? He wants a doctor to get kicked and accept it as his fate. Dear Residents, you have every right to safeguard your life. Vultures like this journalist would try to make you believe that as doctors you are meant to take blows without responding. Dont fall for it

A few days off social media made me realize how different conversation feels without the noise. It’s interesting how people and emotions don’t always move at the same pace

𝗛𝟭𝗕 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀: ✅ The H-1B visa program enables US employers to recruit highly skilled non-US citizens, including physicians and other health care professionals. On September 19, 2025, a new executive order raised the fee for new H-1B petitions from about $3,500 to $100,000, a change that could seriously undermine the US healthcare workforce. The full impact of this policy on healthcare professionals and the communities they serve remains unclear. This study examined the proportion of healthcare professionals sponsored for H-1B visas in fiscal year 2024, analyzing differences across occupations and county characteristics to better understand who would be most affected. ✅ In FY 2024, H-1B–sponsored HCPs accounted for 0.97% of physicians (11 080 of 1 138 056), 0.02% of APPs (122 of 641 605), 0.40% of dentists (1004 of 251 551), and 0.07% of OHCWs (132 of 181 495). The article underscores that while H-1B visa holders make up a tiny fraction of the total US healthcare workforce, they are disproportionately vital to the survival of the safety net in America’s most vulnerable communities. 𝗔 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲: International Medical Graduates (IMGs) on H-1B visas represent only about 1% of the entire US physician workforce (approximately 11,000 physicians annually). Despite constituting such a "small portion" of the total pool of doctors (and a minority of total H-1B visas issued across all industries), their absence would be catastrophic for specific regions. 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁: The data reveals a stark geographic imbalance that favors underserved areas. H-1B physicians are strategically filling gaps where US-born doctors are less likely to practice: Rural Reliance: The percentage of H-1B physicians is nearly two times higher in rural counties compared to urban ones. Poverty Support: These physicians are even more essential in economically disadvantaged regions, with their prevalence being four times greater in the highest-poverty counties compared to the wealthiest ones. "High Impact" The article concludes that H-1B visas are not just an employment mechanism but a critical public health tool. Because these doctors serve in "shortage areas" (Health Professional Shortage Areas) at much higher rates, any policy changes restricting these visas (such as fee hikes) would not just reduce the number of immigrants, but specifically devastate healthcare access for the rural and poor populations that rely on them the most. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/… #H1BVisa #MedEd #MedTwitter
