All money goes into one account. All bills get paid out of one account. What is mine is hers. She’s a SAHM now but this worked for us even when she was working. This only works in a healthy relationship with complete trust, one where you will not need to maintain a security nest. We don’t tell each other what we spend our money on unless it’s like a $500 espresso machine or $49 pecan pie. We both have access to the same credit cards, and all transactions go into Lunch Money for reconciliation. I spreadsheet our macro finances once a month and ensure we’re on track. We even have a shared Amazon account which keeps us somewhat accountable from buying useless shit, which does complicate things during birthdays and Christmas. We end up shopping in-person for each other instead, which isn’t a bad thing. I’ve read that most fights and divorces are about money, and while I feel bad for those folks, this is the bed we’ve made for ourselves. This is the marriage we want.

Spent my first battery charge getting familiar with things and watched an episode of Masters of Air. This thing is worth it just for watching content. It's a private movie theater. (I'm old enough to have spent $3K on a 60 inch HD TV in the mid-2000s for some perspective)

@Carnage4Life I don't think this is even a big shift. This is what smaller companies have been living on for a long time. The big shift is that mega companies now aren't into burning cash all day.

The Fall of the House of Usher benefits from the fact that Mike Flanagan likes long stretches of dialogue and in this idea he has found a great vehicle for that penchant. The writing is excellent and the horror horrifying. Also undercurrents of dark humor.
