AI is a PvE MMORPG economy. Not a race between the mega labs. @RichardSSutton said it best at the @AmiiThinks Upper Bound that decentralized cooperation wins against centralized top down control🕸️

From the xAI all-hands (just released publicly, uncut): Guodong Zhang: "I can already feel the AGI, at least for coding." He told kernel and compiler engineers to seriously ask whether it's still worth it, or whether it's time to join the effort and automate yourself. "What a year to be alive." Elon Musk: by end of year, AI won't even write code. It'll generate optimized binaries directly. Bypassing compilers. Bypassing coding entirely. "Just say 'create optimized binary for this particular outcome.' That intermediate step will not be needed." Grok Code expected to be state-of-the-art in 2 to 3 months. This is an internal all-hands they published raw.

xAI just released their full 45-minute Elon all-hands to the public. Uncut. No edits. Name another company that does this.

Last day at xAI. xAI's mission is push humanity up the Kardashev tech tree. Grateful to have helped cofound at the start. And enormous thanks to @elonmusk for bringing us together on this incredible journey. So proud of what the xAI team has done and will continue to stay close as a friend of the team. Thank you all for the grind together. The people and camaraderie are the real treasures at this place. We are heading to an age of 100x productivity with the right tools. Recursive self improvement loops likely go live in the next 12mo. It’s time to recalibrate my gradient on the big picture. 2026 is gonna be insane and likely the busiest (and most consequential) year for the future of our species.

So @aidotcom has a countdown timer hitting zero at Super Bowl kickoff tonight Here's why this is insane: → @Kris bought the AI domain for $70M in crypto. The largest publicly disclosed domain sale in history → The domain previously redirected to ChatGPT, then xAI/Grok, then DeepSeek. Now it's launching a consumer AI agent platform → ~128M people will watch the Super Bowl tonight (in 16 hours). 18% of viewers say the ads are the main reason they tune in → A 30-second Super Bowl ad costs ~$8M this year, with some going for $10M+ Tech ad spending is 2x what it was during the 2022 "Crypto Bowl" when FTX, @cryptocom and others flooded the broadcast right before the market imploded → The product: a personal AI agent that can message, trade stocks, build projects, with a "decentralised network of billions of agents" vision This could be the mass onboarding event for personal AI Agents - the alpha will be getting your handle before it’s not available → Marszalek is running the exact same playbook as CryptoDotCom: buy a killer domain, splash on marketing, ride mainstream adoption. In 2021, he spent $700M on Staples Center naming rights, for one of the most valuable sports venue naming rights in history. Built a $1.5B revenue business → He paid for the domain entirely in crypto: @aidotcom traffic is about to go absolutely parabolic One of the most recognisable URLs on the internet + 128M eyeballs + a Super Bowl ad = the biggest single-day domain launch in history? This is going to provide a huge uptick in visibility to personal agents Yes we’ve seen the same playbook flop for crypto, but this time it’s far more interesting + useful to the average persons daily lives Compound this with the continued trajectory of OpenClaw developments and I strongly believe we are about to hit an inflection point in adoption

Agent swarms are amazing. I have been using them non-stop since the release 6 hours ago. They enable you to move so much faster. Here’s what most people won’t realize for another 6 months: this changes who can build software, and how fast. Claude Code hit $1B in run-rate revenue in six months. Faster than ChatGPT. Boris Cherny, the head of Claude Code, was already running 5 parallel Claude instances in terminal plus 5-10 on Claude.ai simultaneously. That was the manual version of what agent teams now automate natively. The old workflow was: prompt one agent, wait, review, prompt again. Sequential. The new workflow is: describe what you want, a lead agent decomposes it, spawns specialists for frontend, backend, testing, and docs, and they coordinate with each other while you do something else. That’s a 4-5x throughput increase per developer. And the compounding effects matter more than the raw speed. Each teammate gets its own fresh context window, which solves the token bloat problem that kills single-agent performance on large codebases. The real unlock: a PM or founder who couldn’t code before can now orchestrate a team of AI agents the same way an engineering manager orchestrates human engineers. Describe the architecture, delegate the work, review the output. We just went from “AI writes code for you” to “AI runs an engineering team for you.” And that’s a fundamentally different product category.
Lydia Hallie ✨@lydiahallie

Claude Code now supports agent teams (in research preview) Instead of a single agent working through a task sequentially, a lead agent can delegate to multiple teammates that work in parallel to research, debug, and build while coordinating with each other. Try it out today by enabling agent teams in your settings.json!

4% of GitHub public commits are being authored by Claude Code right now. At the current trajectory, we believe that Claude Code will be 20%+ of all daily commits by the end of 2026. While you blinked, AI consumed all of software development. Read more 👇 newsletter.semianalysis.com/p/claude-code-…

Chinese open weights models remain the same 7-9 months behind, but o3 level is an achievement I still don't get the business model of open weights companies as costs go up, however. You can't make money from services or selling ancillary products like traditional open source
Epoch AI@EpochAIResearch

Kimi K2.5 set a new record among open-weight models on the Epoch Capabilities Index (ECI), which combines multiple benchmarks onto a single scale. Its score of 147 is about on par with o3, Grok 4, and Sonnet 4.5. It still lags the overall frontier.
