The Uganda Manufacturers Association delegation, led by its Chairman Aga Sekalala Jnr @UMAChairman , held a high-level meeting with Uganda's Ambassador to China to enhance bilateral trade and investment cooperation. The meeting was also graced by the teams from Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority @ufzepa led by the Executive Director Hez Kimomi and the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development @paceidug led by Director Marketing and Communication Brenda Katarikawe. Key discussion areas included: ✔️Utilizing China's zero-tariff policy under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). ✔️Bridging gaps in compliance with export standards. ✔️Promoting technology and skills transfer. ✔️Strengthening market linkages for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). ✔️Fostering co-production partnerships. #ExportPromotion

#HappeningNow Discussing the Newly Proposed tax amendment bills 2025 @Parliament_Ug . @UMAChairman has led a team of manufacturers to submit tax proposals to the Parliamentary Committee on Finance Planning and Economic Development among which includes: ✅ The income tax bill ✅ Tax Procedures code (Amendment) Bill ✅ Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill ✅ Excise Duty (Amendment) Bill ✅ Stamp duty (Amendment) Bill ✅ The external trade (Amendment) Bill ✅ Hides and Skins (Export Duty) Amendment Bill.

Earlier Yesterday Mr. Aga Sekalala Jr @UMAChairman led a team of Manufacturers to @Parliament_Ug to discuss the newly proposed tax amendment bills with the Parliamentary Committee on Finance Planning and Economic Development. The Submissions were very welcomed by the committee and further consultations shall be done before the passing of the Amendments.
