@ID_AA_Carmack @SpaceX Starship will have a small spin on the way to Mars. Even a tiny gravity vector is better than none.

Spin gravity for space has been talked about since before I was born, but still hasn’t been demonstrated. @SpaceX should Just Do It with a Dragon capsule, counterweight, and cable.

Working on a new feature for @boringreport on the website (boringreport.org/app) that allows you to ask questions about a particular event that uses the context of the related sources. Have found this to be particularly useful in cases where the summary is not sufficient.

@amasad @paulg Something we’re trying to do @boringreport Trying to combine multiple news sources to generate new summaries, and answer questions about news events. If multiple publications talk about the same fact, it is more likely to be ground truth. boringreport.org

@paulg Agreed, but what's the alternative to find ground truth? I hoped Twitter/X + Community Notes + Free Speech + Transparency would be it. But it's neither free nor transparent, and notes are easily gamed.

@__tinygrad__ Would it be possible/make sense to shard across GPUs on different machines remotely, to have a distributed compute system?

tinygrad's multiGPU tensor sharding is merged. experimental, but is that not the simplest API you have ever seen for data/model parallel? (hint: it's just what axis you shard)

Version 2.0 is out! With this new version: - We've revamped the user experience to be more engaging. Don't worry, you can use compact mode if you prefer an even more "boring" experience. - We've reworked the system to process the news even more quickly from when it was published. After all, it's called "news." - The feed now defaults to be sorted by new, with the dates reflecting the original published date of the source articles.

Dynamic UI has been a recent obsession of mine in this current AI wave Software that doesn’t have explicitly designed “screens” Interfaces just appear as needed, generated on the fly, and vanish into the ether Who’s working on this?
