The data of our new @vercel Functions compute platform keeps impressing me. Vastly beating v8 edge workers with more power & better security. 🟢 Green: nodejs / microVM-powered Middleware 🟠 Orange: edge-worker-powered Middleware (2x faster at p90, on avg 140ms faster at p99) For context, we're moving off the edge runtime, which is v8 powered, to a full Node.js / microVM foundation. But we've also introduced the 'good parts' of edge, namely (1) fast cold starts and (2) server-like concurrency without a penalty for long I/O.

Twitter made my career. It gave me the opportunity to share my work and thoughts with the world, got my dream job, met so many amazing people, earned my reputation,and built my influence -- all through this platform. I deeply appreciate that. Should I ever leave this platform? From a practical standpoint, definitely no. Who wants gave up there years efforts on building up the connections? But it's not the numbers, nor the platform itself, that define us. Twitter is no longer the Twitter it was, I feel sad about that. I just wish we could have a good environment for sharing, discussing technology, and focusing on building great software together as a community. I never think you should stop using X because of anyone - it remains a valuable source of various information. And I don't see myself leaving X entirely either, but I do believe we deserve better for tech discussions. I’m happy to see many of my friends share the same sentiment. The new space we’ve found is warm and welcoming. I sincerely invite you to give it a try and take a look there. Of course, even if you decide to stay, you will still see me around. Either way, it’s about the people, it's about us. I wish you happiness, and no hard feelings. Cheers

The community is re-forming at 🦋 and I love the vibe a lot so far, kinda reminds me the very beginning when I started to engage on Twitter. No one wants to lose their years' effort on building up the audience and network. The inertia of staying is indeed strong, but that shouldn’t be the reason for us to be trapped in a declining platform. Let’s make the first step.
