@latkedelrey This post reminded me of waking up to the sound of the whippoorwill that lived under my bedroom window when I was a kid 🥹
English

@DeeLaSheeArt Ok I hear you but I read the book and he SPECIFICALLY said physical touch isn’t sexual and that it’s about nonsexual touch towards all your loved ones not just romantic. Men are just menning when they use it like that
English

This whole debate made me think about when I was a kid in the deep south and poor enough that we sometimes did have to air dry but the humidity made it take so long they just ended up smelling vaguely mildewed :(
taoki@justalexoki
ok so either American dryers are fundamentally different than European dryers or Americans just don't care about ruining their clothes
English

@reportdogbot @constans Oh Americans do air dry fabrics and knits that specifically can’t go in the dryer. Usually we don’t even run those through the washer, we either hand wash or dry clean
English

@constans nah you can nuke all that. but i hang pretty much any clothes that would piss me off if the dryer ruined it. then obvi you wouldnt be throwing any wool, linen, cashmere, etc clothes in there
English

Wheee do euros get the idea that a dryer will ruin their clothes? I wash my tshirts after every wearing, and it’s not like my tshirts are falling apart.
Are you getting 15-20 years out of your towels instead of “just” 10 years?

@ViciousWood @SkinnyTuna This is actually why I take them. No crazy dreams, no hangover, just good deep sleep
English

@SkinnyTuna I wish edibles would mess me up. I ALWAYS just go to sleep. Not laying in bed scared. Like deep restful regenerative sleep.

@DrNice2026 @Here_s_Hoping The problem with not using fabric to preserve it is that people don’t realize dry rot can still destroy them bc they’re not stored archivally. Be careful using them now after decades of sitting in cabinets! Having them framed archivally (ie not at Michael’s) might be better
English

@Here_s_Hoping Give them a life. When a child’s tired head hits them, that’s exactly what grandma wanted.
English

Dilemma. What do I do with these embroidered pillowcases ? They were given to my mom at her wedding. They were embroidered by her grandma, my great great grandma. My mom never used them because /she “couldn’t ever replace them” after her grandma passed. She kept them in the linen closet in the house I grew up in. She gave them to me when I got married and yes, I’ve also kept them unused in my linen closet for 20 years. I don’t want to get rid of them (I won’t). Do I use them or keep them safely store me for future generations to not use, either?

English

@CartoonsHateHer This is the style of dress that looks meh laid out like this but you get multiple compliments every time you wear it
English

There's this weird thing on Twitter where any aesthetic is deemed "ugly" if it's not like, edgy and 18-year-old coded and serving maximal ironic cunt as if most people aren't just wearing 2017 skinny jeans and slim-fit puffers with running shoes all the time.
Delights in Truth@delightsintruth
Please dont blow this up telling me how ugly these dresses are, I'm old and dont care, ok? And in case you are also old and wear ugly dresses to church like me, these are 100% cotton and at Aldi this week for 16.99, which imo, is a steal.
English

@PaulMSherman @DoorDash I’ve used DoorDash exactly twice, years apart, and both experiences were so bad I genuinely don’t understand why people continue to use them? Is Uber Eats just as bad? I don’t seem to hear bad stuffabout them as often but maybe they’re just not as widely used? Genuinely wondering
English

I have spent two hours talking to customer support from @DoorDash trying to get a refund for hundreds of dollars in fraudulent grocery orders in another state. They have just explained that they will not refund the stolen money but have not explained why.
English

@treydayway I remember watching Independence Day in theaters in my town’s single screen theater. With a balcony

English

@Tempo_Name @LoppyRae Good lord Arkansas must be where the main tick factory is
English

@seashell_luvr Once I tried handing a customer a reciept and she said “those things cause cancer” and I said sure if you touch them all day everyday. Like I’m definitely going to die but you’ll be fine. Her face lmaooo
English

Whenever I see another person holding the side of a receipt by the edge of their nail after making their purchase I’m like 🫡
tater tot@parakeetnebula
It’s cartoonishly evil that receipts are literally made of 100% endocrine disruptor. Whose fucking idea was that
English

@OptimisticOsi @clevelandreaper Habanero sauce, a bit more kick than cholula and so good
English

@vee_em_cee @clevelandreaper I’ll have to try el yucateco never heard of it
English

@OptimisticOsi @clevelandreaper I bought some for the first time in years (been using el yucateco) and was like hmm I don’t remember this tasting like ass. Now it all makes sense
English

@clevelandreaper I grew up only using cholula and then it changed in taste a couple years ago, I had no idea the PE cunts got them.
Valentina’s it is
English

@MNaturalism @Jamellbell I’ve been obsessed with that blue dress ever since I was a little girl
English

@Jamellbell The pairing of Yul Brenner as Ramses and Anne Baxter as Nefertari was perfection!

English

@crotchner2 Every winter I try to wear a chunky knit sweater and end up looking like a pumpkin :(
