Why Supreme Court did not pass comprehensive guidelines to stop women from extorting more from husband after taking a portion of one time alimony by threatening to withdraw consent for divorce? In more than 50% cases, women withdraw their consent for divorce after taking 30-50% of one time alimony. Like any scammer, they increase their demands for money. Courts then dismiss divorce petition if the husband fails to pay much more than the agreed amount in the memorandum of understanding for divorce.
