Hey folks! So, we need to talk 🙂 Seeing some of the responses from @SypherPK’s video (thank you for sharing your constructive feedback!), thought I'd jump in to join the conversation. Totally hear the comments that the community is eager for new content. There was always a risk that by simplifying the game, focusing on Battle Royale and taking a “back to basics” approach to create a ‘reset’ moment for Season 1 - that it may start to feel a little *too* similar to chapters past. The good news is we have a fun update in February to spice things up (I hear rumours that Self-Revives and Shockwaves might be making a glorious return…), and then a full Season 2 update in March. More to come! 👀 I also see the comments regarding game stability. We have already taken steps to setup a multi-discipline live-ops strike team that are meeting daily, prioritising feedback, and taking actions to improve player experience and new Quality of life Updates. This new team is going to be a permanent addition to the development teams setup and I'm excited to see the results. It's not to say they will catch everything so I don't want to set false expectations, but I am confident that you will see an improvement in the months and seasons ahead. And in the meantime, if you want a guaranteed Stick of Truth - don't forget to jump in to this weekends Power Hour! Usual housekeeping rules below, and thank you for the discussions. We'll have more to share tomorrow on incoming improvements. * Respect others' opinions - we are one community! 💝 * Keep it courteous - mute and block buttons exist! ⛔️ * Share any media - seeing the feedback, helps!" 📸 * Stay focused - keep it Fortnite! 🧠 * We will prioritise - this is still game dev, some may take time ⏰ And - thank you! 🎁

Absolutely horrific that @Respawn can acknowledge an exploit allowing cheaters to take control of game sessions but not unban victims at the same time. Denied three of my appeals despite full VOD recording of the situation as it unfolded. Full vod: youtube.com/watch?v=PK3ED3…

Fortnite Builds Discussion: I've taken a little extra time recently to delve back into the intricate layers of the competitive-level building meta and see how it has evolved since the early days of when we kick-started Competitive play. A few thoughts: - The community has built up a vast knowledge base on the topic of building -- or more importantly, how to improve your building skills. This is great because there's always something new you're uncovering based on meta shifts. The level of detail and thoroughness far exceeds my expectations, and it's only getting better. Kudos! - The technical mechanics from 2018 - 2022, then 2023 - present, are like a quantum leap. We went from a lot of ramp rush, high-ground retakes, + triple edits, which were more focused on speed, to advanced piece control, zoning, and mobility integrations. While creative mode certainly played a part in the advancement, there's a clear ramp-up and hyper-technical focus at the onset of UEFN. - At the highest levels of play, it's cool observing how you all are approaching fights like 3-dimensional chess, where predictive opponent movement leads to follow-up piece placement/setups. Some of my favorite examples have been initiating damage, then predicting where your opponent is going to move based on their edit options out of a box. It's such an elegant, mechanical/tactical skill that I've loved watching expand over the years. You still need to maintain all core shooter positional mechanics + itemization + building. And to the point above, it's one of my firmest beliefs that the mechanical skill ceiling for Fortnite is on another playing field. It's one of my greatest joys watching the comp community continue to evolve. Simple Build + Simple Edit are great opportunities to begin understanding the fundamentals of building in a 'simple' way, and I'm hopeful we can get more and more people invested in the strategic nature of building, whether that be through competitive or elsewhere. Last point on this, and here's a note I want to take back to the team. I noticed some discussion about 'optimal binds' and 'optimal sensitivity settings,' with regard to Building. Bindings are 100% a matter of personal preference, but recent discussions on the topic of 'optimal sensitivity' settings lead me to believe we may be defaulting players to a suboptimal range (for builds and aiming), especially for new players joining in. TLDR: Y'all are awesome. You continue to amaze me with how far you've taken the 'competitive' theorycrafting discussions we used to have in 2017-2018 and I'm excited to see where things go next.
