@LottieJohn1 There’s a fantastic bakery on Grays Inn Road just a little down the way. I think it’s called Aux Pain du Papy. Look for thr place with the glass counter on the left as you enter, visible bakery bit forward. Really lovely patisserie and baked goods. Source: parents live nearby

@AlisaValdesRod1 That’s not what that study found. They found differences in symptoms by altitude but not that high altitude increases LC risk. “the risk analysis did not expose altitude as a risk condition for the development of post-acute symptoms of COVID-19.” Pg 16 mdpi-res.com/d_attachment/i…

Amused by all these claims that Chinese Communist Party could force TikTok to hand over ppl's data (I mean, they could, technically.) But CCP could also just buy a lot of that data (especially in the US) from commercial data brokers — with no questions asked. Hmmm.

If mild Covid infections can damage your brain, you'd expect to see news stories about people acting aggressively, acting foolishly, acting recklessly, more anxiety, more anger, more violence.

@mch_tweets Warrior Cat books! Very popular when I was that age (15 years ago). We even used to play Warrior Cats at recess :).

One has to have a pretty strange conception of what “the left” is to believe that “the left is more dominant in Biglaw.” If “the left” means “to the left of Jones Day,” then fair enoufu. But it takes an awfully skewed view of what “the left” is to think this is generally true.

@EricaJoy Telling people they are fired by not letting them into their email at all is a choice. That really shocked me.

What concerns me more than the height of peaks at this new point in SARS-CoV-2 variant evolution is the non-low of the troughs. In fact, every Omicron *low* has been higher than the Delta *peak*. This means a sustained pressure on an already exhausted healthcare system.

Let’s start the year by reflecting on the colossal waste of resources in Bitcoin mining: During 2022 Bitcoin consumed 161 TWh of electricity in total, exceeding a country such as Sweden. Related CO2 emissions were ~90 Mt; again negating the entire global net savings from EVs.

So the goals you had set were not achieved. So the plans you had made all went awry. So all of your hopes (your quite moderate hopes) just ended in disappointment You have survived another year of the plague and while that may feel as though it is not enough it suffices.

Have you ever met anyone *who doesn’t work in law enforcement* who feels that tech companies/devices are collecting the right amount (or even too little) user data? Scientific Twitter poll.

8:30 AM: More than 200 plows remain on duty throughout Central Ohio, including this one at I-270/670/US 62 on the East Side. Photos taken 5 minutes apart show how conditions still vary by location. If you must travel today, allow plenty of extra time to take it slow. #ODOTwinter

Portable generators and charcoal grills produce deadly levels of carbon monoxide. You can't see or smell carbon monoxide and it can kill a family in minutes.

If you are experiencing #Snowmageddon and lose power, do not try to heat your home by bringing a charcoal grill indoors. If you're running a portable generator, it should be outdoors at least 20ft away from your home. Your carbon monoxide alarms should be working.

@robinberjon “The geopolitics of standards” - I would love to read more about this. Is there any scholarship news etc you could direct me to? Or even give me the keywords? Often I find in research the hardest part is figuring out the “magic words” everyone is using on topic. Thanks!! :)

@LissaJoStewart YES! My evidence claims had child molest examples throughout for most of the semester! He was illustrating good points but very upsetting! I talked to him and he put one multiple choice question about child witnesses and only at the end but still!
