DMK is getting into battle mode over delimitation danger. CM meeting with MPs at 11. CM meeting with District Secretaries at 12. District secretaries meeting is crucial. The dangers of delimitation will be taken to the ground in every corner of TN. This is an existential battle for Tamil Nadu.

So much of north south bs but NOT ONE mainstream politician from the ruling / opposition side has demanded more seats for urban areas!

Instead of using the Women's Reservation Bill, to bring in Delimitation and punish my state of Maharashtra & southern states, immediately apply the 33% Women's Reservation to the existing 543 Lok Sabha seats & give women representation. Also ensure the Women's Reservation is for the ordinary woman not wives, nepo daughters, sisters, bhabis & girlfriends of Netas !

The first time they amended the Constitution was in September 2023. Since that day, I have been saying, why not give 33% reservation on the existing strength of Parliament. You can do it today. No need of getting into delimitation, no need of getting into the census, no need of trying to change the constituencies and no need of this controversy. Women's reservation should not be a backdoor to do delimitation and take away the power of the southern states and Maharashtra. We contribute the most to the country economically. We have followed the Union Govt's guidelines and kept our population under control. Today we are being punished through this backdoor of women's reservation. This should not happen. In this women's reservation, make a provision in this Constitutional amendment that this 33% reservation will not be for nepo daughters, sisters, sisters-in-law, wives or girlfriends of politicians. Keep it for the common women, who are politically inclined and want to represent their constituency in Parliament. Do it right now. Who is stopping you? What is this business of taking away powers of the southern states and my state of Maharashtra? It doesn't make sense."

Delimitation on the basis of population alone is unfair to the Southern States. There needs to be a GDP criteria added to ensure fairness. States cannot be punished for controlling their population. This was an ask by the Centre. Saying that you will proportionately lose representation because you did well is totally wrong. Also there is no need to have a Parliament session right in the middle of an election campaign. Heavens will not fall if the session is moved to after 29th April. The BJP is underestimating the appeal of this issue in Southern India. If they try to ram this through they can forget about coming to power in any Southern State for a long long time. And this will be resisted by ALL political parties in the South. Already, in Telangana, both the Congress and BRS who are rivals, oppose this. Time for the AIADMK to make its stand clear on this issue. @EPSTamilNadu

Just look at the intellectual depth of Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal. The way he presents figures, even casually, speaks volumes about his understanding. I doubt many leaders in Aam Aadmi Party let alone the Chief Minister demonstrate that level of economic clarity. Managing a state’s economy and handling debt isn’t a joke; it requires serious intellect, not rhetoric. @SandipGhose Why is it tough to bring manufacturing and heavy industry. 100mm population. Sluggish income levels. Manufacturing should be the key. That’s the focus. Why services. What does WB have to offer on the services front that southern Indian states can’t.

Everyone & their ajoba in MH knew about it, she was as open about it as possible. Problem with 'secular' folks is they don't read beyond their bubbles. Savarkar is sort of a hero in MH, even a liberal humanist like Pu la was a fan.

A US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz - which Trump has now announced ... will basically mean that India will not be able to get our ships in and out of the Persian Gulf. This, therefore, becomes an even bigger energy crisis for us ... The way out, something which Trump wants, is for countries like India to play a role in resisting Iran, clearing up mines and defending the strait of Hormuz from Iranian attack. In other words, potentially being in the line of fire in an area where Iran is locked and loaded with cruise missiles, armed kamikaze boats, airborne drones, mines and probably semi-submersible attack drones. This is the last thing Delhi will want to do. Our wartime arrangement with Tehran to allow a limited number of ships to pass seemed to be working fine, all things considered. But if the situation worsens ... and an energy crisis begins impacting the lives of citizens, there may be little choice but to join the Americans in a fight to clear the Strait, in other words, ending up being a participant in this war.
