DO YOU HATE STICK DRIFT IN VRCHAT?
Well, here you go, the anti drift prefab.
- What does it do?
it adds a single toggle to your avatar to turn off locomotion when you wish to just not be able to move, intentionally or accidentally

@Weegii6 @BluePortal77 you can disagree with piracy without reducing it to poverty = bad behavior.
English

@Weegii6 @BluePortal77 calling everyone broke unemployed doesnt really explain anything, it’s just an insult.
people pirate for a mix of reasons: money, yes, but also testing, convenience, broken assets, lack of demos, and the fact digital files are infinitely copyable.

Rant time
Im so annoyed at how normalised booth piracy has become in the west, especially in my own friend circles. people casually swap download links like its nothing. ive literally had strangers offer me links to download my OWN outfit when i said i liked the outfit they where in. thats where we are now.
and the excuses are always the same. 'i wasnt gonna buy it anyway' okay so you dont get to use it. cant have your cake and eat it. 'its too expensive' buy something cheaper. 'ill only wear it a few times.' 'im broke.' 'its free advertising so its fine.' its not, its stealing. But you put yourself on a moral high ground.
you're stealing from small creators. people like me. and the worst part is how casual its gotten. if you see it, if you hear it in your circles, call it out. stop letting it slide. thats the only reason it become so normal.
The fact that its normal is just disgusting
pic unrelated me in the new fit. maybe you should buy it i suppose...

@gabbygobzilla @BluePortal77 that timeline is way 2 simplified VRC culture didnt start in pure stat and then decay it grew out of modding and sharing culture where remixing ripping and sharing was already norm long be4Booth even became a thing.
you can disagree with it but its not some recent moral collapse
English

2016-2018: "No one makes things so I have to steal TDA/Game rips/Deviantart assets to make avatars!"
2019-2021: "People are making assets but I don't know how to do Blender/Unity, so I'm gonna just use ripped pedestal models or dozens of free shared gumroad models!"
2022-2026: "Even with VRCFury and Modular Avatar making avatar making as easy as ever, VRChat has always had a theft mentality so its fine to continue stealing everything!"
This type of behavior is embedded into the very beginnings of VRChat, and has always been bullshit.

@Zennethe_Auria @BluePortal77 people understand the difference between indie creators and corporations. that still doesn’t make copying a digital file equal to physical theft. a lot of piracy comes from no demos, no refunds, broken assets, and risky blind purchases, not just “evil people.”
English

@BluePortal77 It's because in the west piracy isn't theft, as buying is not owning. People don't think about the fact that solo creators are not the same as giant corporations who revoke access to software on a whim.
English

@SilentSkyZero @BluePortal77 that wouldn’t stop piracy lol. people would just reupload the files after downloading them once.
all it would really do is make the experience worse for legitimate buyers with extra login friction and phone verification spam.
English

@BluePortal77 They should do two factor authentication for the download link. Make you login to download and every time you login send a txt message code. That would fix that
English

@nocturnevox @BluePortal77 but acting shocked piracy is common in vrc/booth culture when there’s no demo system, barely any refunds, broken assets sometimes, unity compatibility issues, and regional pricing differences feels dishonest tbh.
English

@nocturnevox @BluePortal77 because piracy existing doesn’t magically kill a market. games, music, movies, software all still make huge profits despite being easy to pirate.
people still pay for convenience, updates, support, trust, and because they actually want to support creators they like.
English

@BluePortal77 you can call piracy immoral if you want, but acting morally superior over digital file sharing while ignoring the reasons it became normalized is why these rants go nowhere.
if creators want more support, give people reasons to buy beyond guilt trips and public shaming.
English

@BluePortal77 and honestly booth culture helped create this problem itself. overpriced assets, broken packages, misleading screenshots, compatibility nightmares, and “no refunds lol” policies make people not trust buying blindly.
