In just recent months, Russia’s oil refining has dropped by 10%, and Russian oil companies are being forced to shut down their oil wells. As for Russia’s overall state revenues – thanks to our comprehensive pressure at all levels – within the first five months of this year, Russia’s deficit has already grown far beyond what it had planned for the entire year. Putin has, of course, built a war chest – but certainly not enough to fight indefinitely. Every one of our responses, every joint step of pressure together with our partners, pushes Russia closer to ending its war.

Today, we remember and honor the memory of all the victims of one of the most brutal crimes of the Soviet regime – the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people. A deportation that became an act of obvious genocide against the Crimean Tatar people. The year 1944 will forever remain in history as an attempt to destroy a nation – when young and old alike were thrown out of their homes and sent into an alien land. A significant part of the people died on the way, and many did not survive in the places of exile – at least one third, and that may be a very conservative estimate. We remember them. We have not forgotten, and we have not forgiven what happened. No nation deserves such a fate. And beyond that, Russia has not stopped at what it has already done – it launched a new war against Ukraine from none other than Crimea, once again trying to deprive the Crimean Tatar people, and all of us, all Ukrainians, of our home. We are defending ourselves against this, and as long as we stand together and help one another, we will stand our ground. Eternal memory to all victims of the 1944 deportation. Eternal glory to those who fight for life and defend Ukraine.

Ivan Marchuk is among those Ukrainian artists whose oeuvre we are proud of and deeply admire. He is a painter who created his own style, his own technique, and more than five thousand canvases – most of them dedicated to Ukraine. These works are exhibited in different parts of the world. They are about our landscapes and legends, history, culture, and our people. For decades, the Soviet regime did not allow Ivan Marchuk to fully realize his creative potential, but despite everything, he succeeded – and today he continues to work for Ukraine and with Ukraine. Today, together, we visited the exhibition of superb works, “Ivan Marchuk. Museum Collections”, at the Chocolate House, which reopened for the first time since 2022 specifically to hold this exhibition. We are grateful for art that supports, inspires, and puts Ukraine on the map.

Last night, the Russians once again waged war against ordinary apartment buildings in Odesa – as of now, five people are reported injured and fires have broken out in two buildings. In Kryvyi Rih, one person was also injured as a result of a drone strike. In the Kharkiv region, railway infrastructure was attacked, including traction substations. There was damage and railcars caught fire. Thousands of families were left without electricity due to shelling. Strikes were also carried out against the Sumy region and the Zaporizhzhia region. Russia continues to attack our energy sector, critical infrastructure, and civilian facilities. Over the course of the night, there were 210 strike drones, around 140 of them “shaheds.” Such daily attacks demonstrate the need for increased pressure on Russia. The aggressor must be weakened to ensure greater security for Europe. Sanctions policy must continue, along with the synchronization of all our sanctions with those of our partners. Our long-range sanctions are bringing the Russians back to reality. This is entirely justified and, most importantly, limits the Russian Federation’s ability to prolong this war. If Russia does not want to move to diplomacy voluntarily, it must be forced to do so. And I am grateful to everyone who is helping us achieve this.

I began my visit to Azerbaijan by meeting our expert team, which is sharing Ukraine’s experience in protecting the skies. Ukraine is always committed to cooperation that strengthens both our partners and us. We have unique security expertise that can benefit other nations. We are already working along three directions: the Middle East and the Gulf region, the European Union, and substantive work with Azerbaijan. In addition to security, we will work today to strengthen cooperation in energy, the economy, and the humanitarian track. Glory to Ukraine!

Ключове – це оборонно-промисловий комплекс. Ми будемо розвивати наше співробітництво і поглиблювати його. Говорили і про продовження ініціатив в енергетичній сфері, запуск нових. Вдячний Азербайджану за 11 пакетів енергетичної допомоги, зокрема під час останньої складної зими. Окрема увага – гуманітарній підтримці України та нашим зусиллям заради відновлення миру. The first visit to Azerbaijan and our seventh meeting in more than four years. Our relations are at a very high level, and what matters is that they are built on respect. I thank President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev @presidentaz for this visit, for our conversation, and most importantly, for our agreements. Today, Ukraine and Azerbaijan signed 6 documents across various areas. The key is the defense-industrial complex – we will develop and strengthen our cooperation. We also discussed the continuation of energy initiatives and the launch of new ones. I am grateful to Azerbaijan for 11 packages of energy assistance, including during the last difficult winter. Special attention was given to humanitarian support for Ukraine and our efforts to restore peace. I thank Azerbaijan for its support of our sovereignty and territorial integrity. I appreciate the readiness for deep cooperation, including in the defense sector. We have taken a very serious step forward, and new documents will be signed soon.

У Дніпрі досі триває рятувальна операція після російських ударів по місту. Працюють усі служби, медики, рятувальники. Вдячний усім, хто на місцях і справді допомагає людям. З ночі росіяни тероризують Дніпро – завдають ударів і ракетами, і дронами. Удари приходяться по звичайних житлових будинках, енергетиці, цивільних обʼєктах. Удень росіяни атакували ще й повторно житловий квартал, по якому били вночі. Багато поранених. Станом на цей час відомо про понад 40 поранених у Дніпрі. І серед них є діти. Двадцять три людини було госпіталізовано. Ще двоє людей вважаються зниклими безвісти – їхні пошуки триватимуть, поки не буде зʼясовано, що з ними сталося. На жаль, п’ятеро людей у місті загинули через ці російські удари. Мої співчуття рідним і близьким. Важливо, щоб світ не мовчав про те, що відбувається, і щоб оця російська війна у Європі не втрачала уваги через війну в Ірані. «Шахеди» вбивають людей однаково, і захист від крилатих ракет та балістики має бути однаково надійним. Дуже розраховуємо, щоб кожна наша політична домовленість про посилення ППО була реалізована вчасно. І важливо, щоб тиск на Росію за цю війну не припинявся жодного дня: не має бути жодних пауз у санкціях проти Росії за кожен із таких ударів. Життя потребує захисту, і я дякую кожному, хто з Україною!
