Not an economist so there is a risk of leading it further off path as well. I have had much better answers to some of the questions with some prompt crafting (without prodding).

@natfriedman @mcdonalds_tim It's incorrect. I spent a few hours on prompting for the waiting in line question and although it can solve the problem given enough prodding it's fair to say that it finds the problem very difficult.

GPT4 gets a 0 on Steven Landsbrug's undergrad econ exam. But damn, Steven's questions are tricky. Not hard computationally but you really have to think like an economist! thebigquestions.com/2023/04/05/gpt…

@ATabarrok Interesting, I got some much better, albiet still incorrect, answers with some prompt crafting. I haven't finished the test yet because have to wait for GPT4 credits to reset. Will share my run through.

Just fyi, it's not the prompting. I spent a few hours on prompts and GPT4 really finds these questions difficult.

@Gerashchenko_en I'm not from France but I'm in Paris for the month, and it seems fine. The protests and strikes are a sign of a healthy democracy if a little inconvenient.

@bctallis @ukskies I was discussing this earlier. I think it's going to vary heavily person to person. Twitter does tend toward only amplifying certain voices now. It would be interesting to see if you actually put some effort into Mastodon (that sounds rude, isn't intended that way).
