Have been polling versions of this question since September, this is the most dramatic it’s been. If Dems try to out-Israel Republicans, they lose because 10% of Dems say they won’t vote. If they say they’ll reduce support to Israel they win by a lot because Republicans flip
IMEU Policy Project@imeupolicy

In a general election between a Republican and Democrat with identical views about prioritizing support for Israel, Republicans win by 4. Democrats who say they are willing to reduce support for Israel win by 11 - a 15-point jump.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

Whoever is the 2028 nominee needs to have a plan to fix this and a many of the other cuts Trump made to science and research. Massively cutting NIH research is incredibly myopic. It hurts Americans health, our security and economy to not be a leader in research.
Dr. Catharine Young@DrCatharineY

The pipeline that drives discovery - new knowledge and treatments for diseases that affect us all - is collapsing in the United States. New NIH funding opportunities are down 91% this fiscal year.

One of the million reasons to hate every VC and tech bro and podcaster from Silicon Valley was how they constantly defended these fully grown adults, regardless of when it was their old racist tweets surfacing, their lack of knowledge or experience for this job, their horrible data privacy practices, gutting public funding programs, to their obvious hatred of minority groups biasing their decision making. We simply do not hate these people enough.

In his deposition, DOGE employee Justin Fox said he used AI to tag DEI grants to cancel — without ever instructing the AI on what DEI is. Among the grants terminated was a $350k grant to replace an aging HVAC system at the High Point Museum in North Carolina. The AI flagged it because the grant stated, ‘Improving HVAC systems enhances preservation conditions for collections, aligning with the goal of providing greater access to diverse audiences.’

Schumer trying desperately to bail Trump out so they don’t have to take their foot off the gas for the war with Iran and the fact that no Dem has called for a vote on new leadership means that they agree with Schumer
Andrew Desiderio@AndrewDesiderio

Schumer calling on Trump to tap into the strategic petroleum reserve amid spike in gas prices, saying SPR “exists for moments exactly like this.” “When wars and global crises disrupt energy markets, the United States has the ability to act, but President Trump and his administration are refusing to do so.”

@mickjenkins Tobi Lou did this, put an album on streaming that was basically a preview and then you could buy it in full on his app. It worked well imo

This is the part we’re tryna figure out. Someone suggested streaming albums but only a minute of each song. Using streaming platforms as a huge marketing ploy for your direct to fan service. Considering that as well as some other things to compensate. Navitgating rhis shit in real time.
Kyle Booth@kylebooth37

@mickjenkins Good for you, personally i would buy a trial of an album like rent it for a day or something for cheaper and then i could consider purchasing the vinyl or full downloadable access after i know ill enjoy it. MOC streaming gave me a chance to hear it b4 the vinyl affordably

Interesting case study here. Dave elects to promote his work straight-forward, without including the obvious quote in the article that would/has gone instantly viral. Aggregator, on the right, publishes the quote standalone without any additional context (or link to story). Look at the engagement scoreboard*, for two accounts with plenty of followers each. *Aggregator did get a 50-minute head start.

New story: Deandre Ayton is a tantalizing talent - tall, strong and athletic, with a soft touch. His success in LA will depend on how he applies that talent for a team in need of a specific role espn.com/nba/story/_/id…

When you talk to Democratic operatives in DC, privately, every single one admits Gaza is the reason Harris lost. It is universally believed, and nobody will talk about it publicly. Its why the DNC didn't publish its post-mortem.
Political Polls@PpollingNumbers

Democrats’ internal 2024 review found Kamala Harris lost support over the Biden administration’s Gaza policy, Axios reports, highlighting sharp party divisions over Israel.

Justice Kavanaugh told the country that race based immigration sweeps were safe because any citizen caught up in them would be "promptly" released. ProPublica just walked that reassurance out to the parking lot under the fluorescent lights and showed us what really happens. Citizens with passports, birth certificates, Social Security cards in their wallets were detained for hours or days anyway because agents decided they "looked foreign." Families panicked while the supposed safeguard never kicked in. That is not a minor inconvenience. It is federal power seizing liberty first and asking questions later, on the basis of appearance. The gap between what the Court promises on paper and what happens on the street is where the Constitution goes to die. The Fourth Amendment is not a suggestion. If citizens can be caged on a hunch and a stereotype, "promptly let go" is not a safeguard. It is a punch line.
ProPublica@propublica

When the Supreme Court allowed immigration agents to consider race during sweeps, Justice Brett Kavanaugh said that citizens shouldn’t be concerned because agents will “promptly let the individual go.” For these Americans, that wasn’t true. propublica.org/article/immigr…
