@Thundercattttt0 @CoryBMorgan It’s still easier to see a moving car with lights on in the middle of a day. Why not give every advantage possible. Do you just want to save $40 every 10 years to replace a bulb that -might- burn out?

Driving around in the ice fog in Calgary today, I noticed several late-model vehicles with no headlights on at all. Every late-model vehicle sold these days has automatic running lights. People are shutting them off somehow. How & why are they doing it?

@Thundercattttt0 @CoryBMorgan Every time there is rain or fog during the day, no one has their lights on. LED lights last basically forever. There is ZERO reason not to have everyone more visible 24/7

@CoryBMorgan I turn off my DRL on my Golf and Ram. On my Golf it was as simple as bending 1 pin on the switch. Ram with the scantool. Don't need those lights on all the time, burns them out faster. HOWEVER, any fog and I turn them on, that's just common sense.

@JondavidRLongo Wait, aren't tariffs paid by those other country's? How can Costco recover money they never paid!? OH right. The other country's have paid $0 tariffs to trump and it was all just another tax on consumers! I nearly forgot.

BYE BYE COSTCO: After doubling down on nonsensical DEI and social justice practices, Costco is suing Trump Administration for full refunds of President Trump’s tariffs If you didn’t have a reason to sell your Costco stock and cancel your memberships before… you do now. @Martyupnorth_2 Fuck you you fucking fuck. My sister went through the process of Maid, she died at 39, and didn’t get a chance to go through with it. Who the fuck are you to say she should not have had the option of ending her suffering if she had wanted to?

MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying) is going to be big business in Canada. Let's say someone picks MAID at 58 instead of dying naturally at 83. According to the Parliamentary Budget Officer, Ottawa already saves $149 million a year in healthcare costs because people choose MAID instead of lingering in ICU or palliative care. That number will double and triple in the coming years Also, when you die 10–20 years early, you stop collecting OAS and CPP. Just one 60-year-old picking MAID today equals $300k–$500k lifetime pension savings in the coffers of Ottawa. Don't forget the capital gains jackpot for the CRA. Die early and the deemed disposition of all your assets triggers big taxes on your cottage, stocks, and rental properties, TODAY instead of 20 years from now. The government collects decades ahead of schedule. It's also going to be a huge cottage industry. Here's some possible examples: MAiD House in Toronto: $3,500–$5,000 to rent a cozy Airbnb-style death suite. Funeral homes now sell “MAID celebration packages” with champagne and pajama parties. Death doulas charging $150/hr to “guide” you through the paperwork. Lawyers writing $2,000 advance-request wills so you can schedule your own execution in 2030 when the Alzheimer’s kicks in. Travel agents booking MAID vacation to Canada. Finally, organs are the new gold rush. MAID accounted for 7% of all deceased donors in Canada. That’s lungs, livers, kidneys, and hearts that would have rotted in a cancer patient. You can't sell your organs (yet) but the private transplant centers bill $250k–$1M per case (surgery + drugs). Pharma makes bank on selling lifelong anti-rejection meds. All legal, all insured, zero organ sales required. Bottom line: every time someone picks MAID at 58 instead of dying naturally at 83, taxpayers save half a million, transplant industry pockets seven figures, funeral directors upsell the champagne package, and the CRA cashes the capital-gains cheque early. MAID isn’t just healthcare policy anymore. It’s Canada’s fastest-growing profit center disguised as compassion. Ottawa is culling humans.

@echipiuk We need public funded things, 100% private roads everywhere would grind the economy to a halt. And blaming workers who want to be able to afford things is putting up the wrong target. When the system collapses because of unaffordable everything, you won’t be one of the winners.

I don’t use the public education system. I hardly ever use public healthcare, yet I’m expected to pay for it all. Fairness goes both ways. If we all paid for what we actually used, we’d have a system that truly serves everyone instead of one that takes without accountability. If public sector workers want to go on a “general strike,” maybe the public should take a strike on paying taxes. The point of public sector work is to serve the public, not to demand endlessly from the very people funding the system. The growing arrogance and entitlement from those meant to serve the public, while people in the private sector struggle to stay afloat, is getting nauseating. If hospitals and schools are such toxic environments, why stay? If you don’t like your boss or your workplace, leave, just like everyone in the private sector has to. Maybe it’s time for new solutions that actually work for everyone, because it seems one thing is clear: this is not working.

@YakkStack My SO works the equivalent of 17 additional weeks per year (3.5 hrs/day). Hours that she does receives no additional compensation for. Something that an oil patch guy would -never- do. They knew before the strike it would cost them money, they wanted help an a reasonable wage.

Are there any Math Teachers on Strike in Alberta? Have they calculated a break even point yet? If they gain 12% of their salaries over 3 years and lose 10% this year...things really aren't looking up for them, are they?

@kris_sims Two people making $70,000/year can not afford the mortgage of the average Canadian home ($613,000). So two people with university educations and above average jobs working together can’t afford to live in the average home. This is going to be a huge problem

👨‍🏫$2.6 billion offer to Alberta teachers was fair Teachers would've started at $71,000/year & with 7 years experience $100,000+ 3,000 new teachers & 1,500 EAs $8 billion building 100+ schools PLUS: lots of days off, pension, benefits & job security 🚫Taxpayers are tapped out

@kris_sims @whodatguy55 If you take into account the normal unpaid work I’ve tracked for my SO, she works the equivalent of 2 months unpaid, and that is accounting for the 10 weeks off in the summer and Christmas. So no, they are not overpaid in the slightest

@Martyupnorth_2 Are you retarded? A 15 minute city just means that every subdivision has most if not all the services you need on a daily basis within a 15 minute walk. How is that anything but good? Why does a grocery store being able to be walked to scare you?

Congratulations Edmonton, you elected a moron. In order for everyone to live within 1.5 km of everything they need, the have to live inside a circle with a 1.5 km diameter. That's approximately 437 acres. The red circle in the middle of Edmonton is 1.5 km in diameter, and exactly to scale. Exactly what services would an average citizen expect in their own 15 minute city??
