Big week for Ventura’s Sadie Engelhardt. She finished the 10th grade Tuesday. Collegiate coaches could officially contact her today (Oregon was the first). She runs the Mile at New Balance Nationals Outdoor in Philadelphia Saturday. @VenturaTrack @vhs_cougars @SadieEngelhardt

Val and Sadie finished as the 6th best girls TEAM in the California state championships, scoring 23.50 points together. The student athletes that were standing on the podium for the Cougars on Saturday will all return as juniors and seniors next year. 💛🖤

It was an amazing season! Our students represented our school with class, character, toughness, and humility. It was indeed a great day (and season) to be a Cougar!

Sadie Engelhardt did something that had never been done in the history of California track running. After running and qualifying in the 1600 and 800 Friday night, Miss Engelhardt ran and raced for the ages. She did something that had never been done in the history of CA!!!

In the final, with one lap to go, Anthony was in 9th place. He blasted a 56.5 second last lap and pushed for the lead coming down the home stretch with 100m to go! He was out-leaned at the line and finished 3rd in the state of California in an epic finish.

In the boy boys 1600m prelim juniors Anthony Fast Horse and Micah Grossman ran in the same heat. Anthony won the heat, automatically qualifying for the state final on Saturday. Micah ran well, but did not make the final.

Valentina Fakrogha, (Jr) in her 2nd year of track, qualified on day 1 with no misses in high jump, and the #1 seed into the final on Saturday. Sat she started strong, clearing 5-04, and 5-06 on her first attempt, missed at 5-07 and finished as the 5th best jumper in CA 💛🖤

Wyatt Schrader, in only his second season, ever, of track and field, the CIF champion in shot put, had a little bit of an off day, but still finished 14th overall in the state of California, and had a great season! Congratulations Wyatt!! 💪🏽

On day one, (Friday) CIF State Championship preliminary rounds, the girls 4X400 ran really well! Melanie True, Chelsea Ochoa, Annika Haggmark, and Olivia Mobley ran well, but did not make the finals. I was very proud of this group and their effort.
