The Guardian’s headline is disinformation. The ship didn’t enter “British waters.” It was in the UK’s EEZ, where UNCLOS explicitly allows foreign (including military) vessels to operate. And for context: British Royal Navy ships have repeatedly entered Russia’s EEZ in the Barents Sea. This stuff goes both ways.

Just a view - I think Ireland is a mature democracy that can stand on its own two feet. It doesn’t need permission to deploy its own defence forces. Its neutrality is safe even if it invests in its military capability and capacity. rte.ie/news/politics/…
