Epstein survivor Courtney Wild was 14 years old when she was first abused by Jeffrey Epstein, and it lasted until she was 17. In a shaky, tearful voice, she gave her testimony at the House Oversight field hearing in Palm Beach.
What happened to her was terrible, but she explained that what our own government did afterward changed her life just as much.
She came to ask for one simple thing: to make sure this never happens again.
The government secretly made a non-prosecution agreement with Epstein behind closed doors and never told her or any of the victims. Instead, they sent letters telling her to be patient even though the case was already over.
With lawyer Brad Edwards, she fought under the Crime Victims Rights Act for over a decade all the way to the 11th Circuit.
The emails showed the government was trying to make Epstein happy instead of protecting the 40 victims who were children when they were abused.

With temperatures already reaching 34°C this week, residents of the Gaza Strip are facing extreme heat with no regular access to water. Over two and a half years of genocidal assault, the Israeli military has systematically destroyed more than 84% of the Strip’s water and sanitation infrastructure, leading to the total collapse of basic living systems. Even now, seven months after the “ceasefire” agreement came into effect, Israel continues to block the entry of essential equipment needed for reconstruction. The military is preventing the entry of filtration systems, tanks and construction materials required to operate these systems, thereby preventing any possibility of restoring healthcare and water systems for millions of people. In the displacement camps, the reality is unbearable. Families are forced to live alongside flowing sewage and piles of garbage accumulating between the tents. Due to the severe shortage, displaced people are routinely forced to use contaminated, undrinkable water. Many report having to forgo bathing or cooking to save the little clean water they have for drinking. The deadly combination of heat, pollution and lack of basic hygiene conditions is leading to the spread of severe skin and intestinal diseases. The few remaining water sources become contaminated more quickly in high temperatures, causing dehydration and acute diarrhea, especially among children. Experts estimate that the combined damage to infrastructure led to thousands of indirect deaths already in the first year of the assault. By continuing to block humanitarian aid and deliberately destroy life-sustaining infrastructure, Israel is perpetuating conditions in Gaza that are unfit for human habitation. The genocide in the Gaza Strip continues.

We are living in Gaza today in an unbearable situation. Temperatures have risen to around 30°C, and tents are no longer shelters; they have turned into suffocating spaces that trap heat throughout the day, almost like ovens.
Throughout the day, I see people fleeing from sitting and sleeping inside cloth tents, going out into the streets in search of any breeze or a slightly cooler place, but without any real relief. Children, patients, and the elderly are the most affected; they collapse quickly under this heat, and with the lack of hygiene and care, clear signs of exhaustion and skin problems are appearing.
Water is extremely scarce, barely enough for basic needs, and even the simplest daily necessities have become exhausting, with insects spreading inside the tents, making the situation even harder. The coming days are expected to bring a significant rise in temperatures, meaning the situation will become even harsher than it already is.
Where is the world in all of this? They watch us dying inside these tents and do nothing, as if we are outside the calculations of life, as if our death here has become something normal that doesn’t even deserve a reaction.

The entire idea that there’s a ceasefire in Gaza or Lebanon while Israel is still killing people every day is rooted in the dehumanization of Arab and Muslim lives. There was never a ceasefire but the media continues to use language pretending otherwise.
