People are already shipping robots capable of end-to-end manipulation to consumers, and at the forefront is @weaverobotics -- you can order an Isaac to fold your laundry today. We talked about end to end learning and what it means to make an ai-enabled home robot as a product ->
RoboPapers@RoboPapers
Do you want to never fold clothes again? Weave is a robotics startup founded in early 2024, aiming to build useful home robots as a product. We talked with co-founder @kaandogrusoz, and learned about his journey building a home robotics startup. We covered building products out of end-to-end learning, the ideal form factor of a home robot, and what the important prerequisites are for deploying AI-enabled robotics in the real world. Watch epiosde #74 of RoboPapers, with @chris_j_paxton and @DJiafei, now!

General-purpose AI models are behind some of the most exciting applications we now can't live without. We envision that an analogous “physical intelligence layer” built with models like π0.6 will similarly spur a new wave of applications for the physical world.
We’ve recently begun working with a handful of companies that have deployed their robots to do real-world, useful things.

robotics labs and startups list draft - which ones am i missing, and which categorizations are terrible and need updating?
labs
- pi (most people felt like this was the best team on the research side. also more of a general foundation model company, very ambitious.)
- also tesla (but xai is making the models?)
- gdm robotics
- uma
- nvidia robotics
- intrinsic
- rai institute, kind of
- genesis ai
- general intuition
- generalist
- dyna
- skild
ai for science incl lab automation
- periodic labs
- prometheus
- lila sciences
- futurehouse (tbd)
- medra
industrial
- halcyon
- boston dynamics (hyundai)
- unitree
- agibot
- ubtech
- amazon robotics
- also tesla
- also dyna
- dynatronics
- stealth
- sanctuary
- agility
- covariant (acq)
- humanoid
- figure
- apptronik
robots for homes
- 1x
- also tesla
- prosper
- sunday
- matic
- bot company
product
- orchard robotics (farming)
- path ai (manufacturing)
- ironsite (construction)
different axes to look at robotics labs
- precustomer vs post customer
- manufacturing vs home automation vs something else
- specialist vs generalist
- simulation training vs real world training
- lab vs product focused
thanks to friends who suggested companies and ways to improve organizations

Humanoids were all over #CES2026, but many are teleoperated. Even fewer are ready for multiple tasks in a home. Here's when home robots may be ready. Watch in action: @weaverobotics @Tesla_Optimus @agilityrobotics @Figure_robot @Apptronik @BostonDynamics

Our robots have a new cheerleader :)
We’ve been quietly deploying our robots to more businesses across the Bay Area.
Drop by @seabreezesf in Noe Valley and see for yourself!

@jimbelosic Jim put a "custom" material option where users can put a mcmaster PN for any sheet goods and you will cut it "at risk" as received.
