@futurepedia_io AI tools are becoming increasingly intelligent, but context management remains largely human-driven. Until we fix that layer, productivity will continue to leak through the cracks. This pain is exactly why I started building ChatCrumbs (chatcrumbs.com).

If you’re overwhelmed by AI tools, that’s a signal—not a failure. The ecosystem is moving fast. Curate, don’t chase.

Is anyone else getting bored with AI? I don't mean in the global "AI is a nothingburger" sense. I mean that it's just not as intellectually stimulating. I use AI extensively to learn, stress test ideas, and with each new generation, they get smarter. But eventually I learn their patterns, their limits, and the "free energy" of interacting with AI diminishes. Even though they are "galaxy brained" i.e. know infinitely more than I will, there are still limitations in what is knowable, and I find that when you push on the edges (frontier philosophy, futurism, etc) they all tend to default to postmodernist "who can know anything anyways?" Gemini is far more willing to have these epistemic forays into the unknown than any other model. But they all tend to default to safe, consensus, mainstream, or science fiction views. On the one hand, it's kinda disappointing. Aren't these models supposed to be surpassing humanity on like, all benchmarks? Then why are they so bland and boring on fun, interesting, and challenging conversations? If I were to engage with some hubris, my answer would be "because these topics are genuinely hard, unknowable, and no amount of genius IQ can solve them. That's the terminus. Irreducible complexity or a lack of epistemic grounding genuinely take over. That's the long and short of it." If that hypothesis turns out to be true, then "ASI" might be quite boring because it will just realize "yeah, we can't know that answer due to math, physics, and other limits" but you can endlessly explore possibilities. The hope is that ASI and AGI and whatever will be able to instantly intuit secrets of the cosmos, but maybe that's just not possible.

Don't think of LLMs as entities but as simulators. For example, when exploring a topic, don't ask: "What do you think about xyz"? There is no "you". Next time try: "What would be a good group of people to explore xyz? What would they say?" The LLM can channel/simulate many perspectives but it hasn't "thought about" xyz for a while and over time and formed its own opinions in the way we're used to. If you force it via the use of "you", it will give you something by adopting a personality embedding vector implied by the statistics of its finetuning data and then simulate that. It's fine to do, but there is a lot less mystique to it than I find people naively attribute to "asking an AI".

So John Legend is cool and everything, but how was Morgan Freeman not the first choice for an alternative Google Assistant voice?
