I don’t understand why everyone, including all Danish politicians, are talking as if Trump wants to annex Greenland by force.
The obvious way is for the US to purchase Greenland from Denmark.
And the obvious debate is about if there could be a deal that benefits everyone.
But instead everyone is focused on Trump / US as an aggressor. Why? Is it really just because of that one time when a reporter asked Trump if he would “rule out using either economic or military means in Greenland or Panama”, and Trump said no.
Trump is not a man to go and rule out things just because the press asks him to. But this doesn’t mean anything. It certainly shouldn’t make us think that US attacking Danish land is more likely than a deal proposal.
