Crowds in Bangladesh are flocking to snap photographs with an unlikely social media star – an albino buffalo with flowing blond hair nicknamed “Donald Trump” due to be sacrificed within days. The 700-kilogram bull, owned by Zia Uddin Mridha, got its nickname after his brother compared its flowing hair to the US president’s hairstyle. It has become a local attraction, with visitors and children coming to photograph it, while caretakers bathe it multiple times daily. Albino buffaloes are rare, according to livestock officials, and the attention has reportedly caused the animal to lose weight, leading to limits on public visits. The buffalo is one of several farm animals in the area given popular nicknames ahead of the Islamic festival. As Eid al-Adha approaches in Bangladesh, where millions of animals are traditionally sacrificed, Mridha said he will miss the buffalo but views its fate as part of the religious tradition of sacrifice.

A South Korean oil tanker successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, marking the first transit by a South Korea-flagged vessel since the Iran war began. Foreign Minister Cho Hyun confirmed the tanker, Universal Winner, was travelling from kuwait’s Mina Al Ahmadi port to Ulsan in South Korea.
