Isn't the core plot about reincarnation?? She's supposed to be his long-dead wife. Yeah, they could've chosen an actress who looks slightly older, but the 20+ year age gap DOES make sense in the context of the story. It's MEANT to be taboo & uncomfortable! That's the whole point!
